Golden Street carries on a new look

This fall, a number of micro renovation programs on the 670 meter long Golden Street have been completed and are now open to the public.

Golden Street was built in 2009. In the past 12 years, the pedestrian street has gradually become a landmark in Changning and even Shanghai. At the same time, it has also ushered in a key stage of urban renewal and management innovation.

Hongqiao Community, which oversees the street, launched Open Box program and KnockKnock program last year to attract residents, businesses, social organizations and other resources, and gave full play to them to participate in the renewal of the street.

For more than a year, the pedestrian street has been glowing with new brilliance. More than 200 businesses and six residents committees along the street focus on the three themes of green ecology, digital life and cultural innovation and art.

Cui Lixia, deputy director of Hongqiao Community, said, “The beauty of the street should not only have prosperous business, but also have a comfortable life. 

“The micro renovation of one street and one product makes the Golden Street more dynamic and warm. At the same time, we also hope to sow the seeds of co-governance, co-construction and sharing in the hearts of the street for the development of the street and empower the 15 minute life circle.”

 

Commercial complex in Hongqiao hub

Shanghai East Hongqiao Center, a large commercial complex located in the east area of Hongqiao International Central Business District, is near completion and will be put into use before the end of this year to inject new power and vitality into the construction of Changning’s integration into Hongqiao International Open Hub.

The complex at 299 Youle Road covers about 40,000 square meters, including four eight-story office buildings and a 30,000 square meter high-quality commercial facility.

Less than 500 meters away from the Metro Line 10 Hongqiao Airport Terminal 1 Station, Shanghai East Hongqiao Center also owns more than 8,000 square meters of greenery, outdoor sunken square, 350 meters of circular footpath and ecological concentrated space.

The high-quality commercial formats will focus on creative life, fashion life and exquisite life. Theme restaurants, coffee, bakery, high-end private banquets, food courts, sports and fitness, boutique supermarkets and beauty and personal care will be introduced to create a dynamic and convenient urban life and leisure experience.

Highlights include Shanghai’s first 10 meter deep diving pool and a high-end garden restaurant.

 

Riverfront community integrates culture with ecology

Zhoujiaqiao Community has mapped out a plan to turn itself into an international riverfront neighborhood of excellence.

Urban renewal programs will integrate ecological protection with the cultural inheritance of Suzhou Creek.

Part of the plan is to restore the integrated Chinese and Western architectural style of the previous Shanghai West Railway Station. A number of revolutionary sites in the community will be expanded also.

As Changning Road is the main axis of Zhoujiaqiao area, the community has picked multiple spots along both sides of Changning Road to build green spaces to upgrade the environment along Suzhou Creek.

The east side of the community will focus on commercial services, the middle part to highlight public service and the west part is for quality life.

 

Brainstorm at AI conference

The 2021 IDEA conference of International Digital Economy Academy was recently held in Futian, Shenzhen. Many industry leaders gathered together to share experiences and ideas around the development of artificial intelligence in the era of digital economy. 

Zhu Mingjie, founder of Changning-based fintech company CraiditX, also shared with the participants the experience of how the industry moved toward deep digital transformation.

“The traditional competition model has become saturated. We need to use AI to solve problems that human beings can’t do. These fields are the ‘AI effective scenarios’ worth investing in. 

“In this process, we use the ‘API’ strategy,” Zhu said. The “API” strategy is to integrate AI engineering and professional knowledge, logically separate the AI part from the business interface part, and then realize modular production.

Previously, CraiditX reached an agreement with management consulting firm CTO Labs on September 28 to jointly establish IDEA CraiditX Computational Finance Lab focusing on AI finance.

Zhu Mingjie, founder of CraiditX, highly praised Changning’s excellent business environment that have provided valuable fertile ground for science and technology enterprises in technology implementation and achievement transformation.

The establishment of IDEA CraiditX Computational Finance Lab integrates the advantages of Shanghai, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau as financial centers and innovation high grounds, so that the world’s top computing power and talent potential can radiate wider areas, so as to achieve the goal of targeted innovation technology and industrial digitization to a higher level, said Zhu.

In the next stage, the two companies will work together to promote the digital transformation and application in the financial field, carry out research in the fields of large-scale image processing, cognitive models, and privacy of federated learning, according to Zhu.

 

Shanghai Hong Kong IP cooperation

The special session on Shanghai Hong Kong cooperation of the 11th Business of Intellectual Property Asia Forum was held in Changning on December 2.

The forum brings together IP professionals and business leaders from around the world to discuss the latest development in the IP world, and to explore business collaboration opportunities.

For the first time, the Hong Kong side cooperated with the mainland to jointly hold a special session on Shanghai Hong Kong cooperation, focusing on “new opportunities for Shanghai Hong Kong Intellectual Property Cooperation,” so as to promote the transaction and development of intellectual property rights between Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Changning District is always committed to the development of regional intellectual property rights and strives to build a high ground for the creation, application and protection of intellectual property rights. 

From January to September this year, the total number of patents authorized in Changning was 2,897, of which inventions accounted for 30.93 percent. The number of PCT patent applications is 66.
