‘Red lips’ to kiss Changning

The first image art museum in Shanghai, Xiaohui Wang Art Museum, will officially open to the public on August 5, 2022. This huge “red lips” located on Weining Road has a total of four floors, with an exhibition area of more than 2,000 square meters. 

The representative work of artist Xiaohui Wang, the red lips sculpture device composed of two flat peaches, “kiss of art,” is the main symbol of the new museum.

When it comes to the reason why the art museum is located in Changning, Xiaohui Wang frankly said that there were many places to choose at the beginning, but she didn’t hesitate to come here in the end. 

“Because Changning is an international community of excellence with convenient transportation and strong artistic atmosphere, when I visited the site, I fell in love with this place at the first sight. 

“I felt that I was closely tied with Changning. We are willing to contribute wholeheartedly to the cultural development of Changning, including the going global of Chinese culture and international cultural exchanges.”

Xiaohui Wang Art Museum is also a “breathable Art Museum.” Her paint will release negative ions to purify the air. Through three-stage filtration and humidification regulation, the fresh air system improves the indoor air quality to 100 times that of the outdoor, and absorbs 98 percent of the dust through static electricity, so that even people with sensitive skin can rest assured.

Complex next to airport ready to serve

As the first project in the Changning area of Hongqiao International Open Hub, East Hongqiao Center at 299 Youle Road is near completion and with the internal decoration and supporting works being accelerated.

The total construction area of the center is about 170,000 square meters, including four high-quality office buildings of about 70,000 square meters, and about 30,000 square meters of boutique commercial spaces on the ground floor and underground floor, which can meet both the demands of businesspeople and family. The commercial format of the project is expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

The office buildings will mainly house aviation companies while the high-quality commercial formats will focus on creative life, fashion life and exquisite life. Theme restaurants, coffee, bakery, high-end private banquets, food courts, sports and fitness, boutique supermarkets and beauty and personal care will be introduced to create a dynamic and convenient urban life and leisure experience.

Highlights include Shanghai’s first 10 meter deep diving pool and a high-end garden restaurant.

Online economic park to lead digital development 

The “Source of Hongqiao” Online Economic Park was officially established on July 26 to be a model for high-quality economic development and digital transformation across the country.

The park is established in line with the industrial development guidance of Hongqiao International Central Business District. With a total planning area of 6.74 square kilometers, it focuses on the development of new business forms such as artificial intelligence, digital health, digital travel, digital consumption, and has gathered leading enterprises such as iFLYTEK, Ctrip, iQiyi, etc.

It is planned that by 2025, the park will be built into a national online new economy innovation high ground and digital economy headquarters gathering zone.

The scale of online new economy cluster here will reach 300 billion yuan. At the same time, a total of 440,000 square meters of rental housing and more than 10,000 sets of condos are planned to house workers in the park.

Subsidies to keep job

The district human resources and social security bureau has issued subsidies of 16.6 million yuan (US$2.46 million) to 308 enterprises, retaining nearly 28,000 jobs.

Changning took the lead in allocating the first batch of subsidies to enterprises to help them return to the track as soon as possible.

“Give full play to the role of employment service specialists, proactively inform and provide services to enterprises with more than 50 employees by telephone, SMS, enterprise WeChat and other means, and strive to get through the ‘last mile’ of policy implementation,” introduced head of the bureau.

The bureau has continuously optimized the approval process of subsidies, accelerated the approval process to two working days. At the same time, the bureau promoted the online government services model, and enterprises can apply for subsidies only by submitting materials online, which effectively help enterprises cope with the impact of the pandemic and alleviate business difficulties.

New landmark to interpret ‘city of art and life’
