Fashion brands: Continued robust growth

Thanks to the fashion creative industry with prominent advantages, high-quality and humanized business services and measures, international famous fashion brand ZARA, the Korean high-end brand HAZZYS, and the American contemporary glamorous women’s clothing brand Bebe launched their businesses in Changning which helped them maintain high competitiveness and high impact in the contemporary fashion circle.

In recent years, Changning has expanded the value chain and industrial chain of fashion and creative industries, attracting many high-quality industrial enterprises to land, and domestic and foreign characteristic fashion brands to gather.

For instance, I.T, with its unique fashion style, meets the needs of young people for taste and consumption. It has gathered more than 300 international brands, including IZZUE, 5cm, b+ab, CHOCOLATE, AAPE, fingercrox, and more than 300 domestic brands, as well as the American fashion brand DKNY since its establishment in 1984.

New platform launched to help EU firms in Changning

A new exchange and cooperation platform for China-EU enterprises was inaugurated in the Greater Hongqiao area of Shanghai on February 22.

The platform offers online services and guidance for multinational enterprises, and was initiated by the Changning District Commission of Commerce, the Information Office of Changning, the Foreign Affairs Office of Changning, and Shanghai Daily.

At the launch event, seven European companies signed up with the platform.

The launch event also honored a group of leading multinational and local firms with the 2022 “Environment, Social and Governance” Pioneer Awards for their contributions to accelerating the green transformation of society. The awards were organized by Shanghai Daily and given under the guidance of the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality and Shanghai United Media Group.

The platform aims to create a quality business environment and investment climate to attract European companies to invest in Changning.

It offers services at all stages of the business life cycle for European enterprises in China to promote the growth of European Union companies in Changning, enhance exchanges and interactions between Chinese and EU firms, and help them to explore more investment opportunities.

Changning is an important window in the reform and opening-up of Shanghai. There are currently more than 6,800 foreign companies registered in Changning, with 80 headquarters of multinational enterprises.


Gymnastics center construction in progress

New progress has been made in the construction of the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center since the overall renovation began in 2020.

On February 16, the renovation project of the gymnastics center was officially granted a new round of “Shanghai Construction Project Waste Disposal Certificate” and a “Night Construction Permit.”

The overall renovation is scheduled to be completed in December 2025.


More playgrounds give more exercise

Three more sports venues were built in the New Hongqiao Central Garden to better serve visitors. Hence, there are now four basketball courts and two five-a-side football pitches in the garden.

During the test run, they are open for free but from middle of February players will have to pay. A mini-program will help them book and pay at that time.
