Global debut of Westwell Lab E-Truck 发布时间:2023-04-26

On April 18th, Westwell Lab released its new product - the world’s first “scalable autonomous driving” intelligent connected new energy heavy-duty truck Qomolo E-Truck at the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show.

At the same time, Westwell Lab’s new battery swapped unmanned commercial vehicle Q-Truck also joined forces with E-Truck to showcase the potential for green and intelligent upgrades.

The exterior surface of the E-Truck has undergone special treatment for anti-corrosion and salt spray prevention, and the frame is made of DL700 high-strength steel, making it suitable for operation in extremely cold and hot weather.

The vehicle is equipped with an integrated intelligent cockpit, as well as fatigue driving monitoring and human-machine interaction terminals.

Liang Chisheng, product director of Qomolo at Westwell Lab, said that E-Truck is an intelligent commercial vehicle product tailored specifically for customers who are undergoing automation transformation at container logistics nodes.

“It not only meets the need for traditional vehicles to upgrade to electrification, but also continues the ‘modular’ design of the Qomolo family, enhancing scalability and flexibility.

“It can be quickly upgraded to autonomous driving, leaving more potential for future upgrades,” Liang said.

In 2018, Westwell Lab released the Qomolo brand, officially announcing its entry into the field of new energy intelligent driving. Since then, the Qomolo family has continued to grow, and products such as Q-Truck all-time unmanned new energy commercial vehicles, Q-Chasis unmanned heavy-duty horizontal transport vehicles, and Q-Shuttle intelligent minibuses have gradually gained recognition among users globally.

However, the pursuit of “cost reduction” and “efficiency” by frontline users has prompted Westwell Lab to further consider how to meet the dual needs of users for “new energy and intelligence” of commercial vehicles to a greater extent, and create a new “scalable autonomous driving” cost reduction model.

As a result, the world’s first “scalable autonomous driving” intelligent connected new energy heavy-duty truck E-Trucks emerged. The success of E-Truck and Q-Truck is a microcosm of Westwell Lab’s forward self-research achievements.

As the earliest company based on forward self-developed unmanned heavy trucks, Westwell Lab’s products and services have covered container logistics scenarios such as seaports, railways, land ports, airports, factories, etc, with commercial landing in 16 countries and regions around the world, serving more than 160 customers.
