The Changning session of the 2024 “Maker China” Shanghai Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was concluded on September 4, with multiple companies and teams conducting project roadshows to showcase project innovation features and market potential.

To enhance the innovation capability and specialization level of small and medium-sized enterprises, Changning has always focused on promoting the high-quality development of “specialized, refined, unique, and new” s well as “high-tech” enterprises.

Have a good time at century-old street

At the turn of seasons in late summer and early autumn, Yuyuan Road welcomes a good time for strolling and checking in. As time goes by, although the sunshine is still warm, it has become a bit gentler. The trees on both sides of the road also provide shade for passersby to escape the heat. 

As a tree lined avenue carrying rich historical and cultural heritage, every brick and tile on Yuyuan Road tells stories of the past, where one can feel the weight of history and the sedimentation of time.

The red brick walls and mottled lintels that exude a unique charm are witnesses to the history of this city. The wutong trees on the street, whose leaves are slightly yellow, sway gently in the breeze, as if telling the change of seasons.

 

There are various art cafes of different sizes scattered along Yuyuan Road, filling the air with the aroma of coffee. Turning into a room everywhere, sipping coffee while watching pedestrians come and go, and your thoughts may gradually drift away.

The small shops on the street are dazzling, each with its own style. Vintage grocery stores, art filled galleries, cozy bookstores... Here, you can find your favorite small items or immerse yourself in the world of art, feeling the touch of your soul.

The Yuyuan Road in late summer and early autumn has a unique beauty. She has both the warmth and vitality of summer and the tranquility and depth of autumn. 

Here, time seems to slow down, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of life. Take advantage of the sunshine and gentle breeze to explore Yuyuan Road and find your own unique artistic journey.

‘Most Hongqiao’ this autumn

The Changning session of the annual Shanghai Tourism Festival, the “Autumn of Hongqiao” is upgraded to the “Most Hongqiao” Carnival this year, presenting a brand new cultural and tourism image to the public.

The “Most Hongqiao” Carnival will continue to uphold the theme of “a festival for the general public” and promote the deep integration of culture, commerce, and green. 

It will showcase a joyful, peaceful, and colorful urban cultural atmosphere, allowing people at home or come from afar to participate, experience, and share the wonderful life of Changning.

The 2024 “Most Hongqiao” Carnival, with the theme of “Heartbeat Changning’s Most Hongqiao Best City Best Life,” will use music, exhibitions, art, and tourism as links. 

From September to November, various forms, rich content, and a combination of online and offline cultural and tourism activities will be carried out in various dynamic spaces such as green spaces, commercial circles, popular neighborhoods, and habitat gardens throughout the district, targeting the diverse cultural and tourism needs of different audience groups. 

A total of 109 cultural and tourism activities in six major sections will be held throughout the district: “Landmark’s Most Trendy,” “Commercial Circle’s Most Vibrant,” “Block’s Most Shanghai Style,” “Urban Area’s Most Youthful,” “Cloud Travel’s Most Colorful,” and “Community’s Most Literary and Artistic.” 

Focusing on cultural and tourism empowerment, cultural and tourism livelihood, and cultural and tourism consumption, Changning will continuously expand its influence in cultural and tourism, for the construction of an international community of excellence with global influence.

Creekside with best vibrant nights

In late summer and early autumn, the most comfortable and most romantic time is at night, with unique charm emanating from Suzhou Creek’s waterfront. Amidst the interplay of various light and shadow, Changning at night appears even more colorful and vibrant.

Carnival features series concerts

On the evening of September 7, with the debut of the 2024 “Most Hongqiao” Carnival series of activities - the “Wild Utopia” Shanghai Zoo concert brought by Grammy winning group Time for Three, the 2024 Hongqiao Lawn Music Festival officially kicked off. 

In addition to the “Wild Utopia,” the Hongqiao Lawn Music Festival will also hold five concerts from September to October, allowing audience to enjoy music while immersing them in the cultural charm of Changning.
