Incubator boosts innovation in ‘Silicon Alley’

Construction kicked off on the “Shanghai Silicon Alley” innovation incubator on December 5 to further inspire the innovation vitality, cultivate an innovation ecosystem, and contribute to the construction of a globally influential science and technology innovation center in Shanghai.

Focusing on developing Low altitude economy, GDAT Company Limited, the China’s most prominent helicopter lessor and operator of medium and heavy helicopters, and eVTOL startup Pantuo Aviation have made progress in their development in the East Hongqiao area of Changning.

Changning is further cultivating the new quality productivity of low altitude economy by introducing “prominent roles in industry.”

It is expected that the market size of China’s low altitude economy will reach 1.5 trillion yuan (US$206.1 billion) by 2025 and 3.5 trillion yuan by 2035, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Faced with significant industrial opportunities, Changning District will take the East Hongqiao area as a key carrier, further coordinate the resources and advantages of its Chengjiaqiao Community, Xinjing Town, and Linkong Park, cultivate new quality productivity, and create a low altitude economic headquarters cluster area in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The ESG branch of the regional headquarters of multinational conglomerates was established in Changning on December 5, which will leverage the synergistic effect of ESG practices among foreign-funded companies, expand their ESG influence, and promote innovation and improvement in their ESG practices in Shanghai.
