On October 9, the 2026 Spring/Summer MODE Shanghai Fashion TradeShow commenced at Changning's commercial landmark, the Hongqiao United Plaza, gathering nearly 250 established commercial brands and avant-garde designer brands from 30 countries and regions. The MODE Shanghai Fashion TradeShow (hereinafter referred to as "MODE Shanghai"), known as the "core platform of Asia's largest ordering season" created by Shanghai Fashion Week, has always been committed to promoting industrial innovation and global collaboration. This edition of the MODE Shanghai, under the theme "Blossoming New Realms," further expanded its overall scale, with a total area of 17,000 square meters, constructing an efficient ecological platform integrating display, transactions, and inspiration collision.

The participating designer brands this edition possess rich aesthetic expressions and innovative practices, including contemporary interpretations of Eastern aesthetics and intangible cultural heritage techniques, pioneering explorations in structural deconstruction and identity narratives, as well as showcasing the diverse possibilities of fashion through technological functionality and sustainable concepts. Numerous renowned SHOWROOMS gathered here. Through the platform's resource aggregation, domestic brands were able to connect with international resources, while overseas brands received localized incubation support, achieving two-way empowerment of globalization and localization.

At the Hongqiao United Plaza, domestic and international buyers flocked in, and the exhibition booths were bustling with crowds. Shanghai local brand Vexora, participating for the first time, brought over 70 new products. Fabrics like silk and acetate clashed and blended with lace, metal, and leather. "We didn't expect so many professional buyers to visit, which gives us great confidence," said Liu Junheng, founder of Vexora. He said that the brand is newly established and is very honored to have the opportunity to participate. This season's new products continue the original intention of "bringing design into life," presenting the brand's characteristic "rebellious elegance," and advocating for independent women to find their true selves and bravely express themselves.

Overseas brands account for over half of the MODE Shanghai. Contr'Ora, a unique fashion brand with pure Italian genes, is one of them. It is collaboratively created by two designers who balance innovation and tradition through different styles and colors, showcasing the wearer's creativity, emotions, and state of mind. "We attach great importance to the Chinese market; this is our second time participating. The new series mainly targets young people and career women, using dopamine color palettes like yellow, denim blue, and light blue. Natural texture fabrics are used to highlight color tension and detail refinement, combining practical functionality with fashion style," said a brand staff member.

The sustainable focus of the MODE Shanghai, the "Material Space," is a must-visit area. This edition once again assembled global sustainable pioneers, focusing on three major dimensions: bio-based materials, digital fashion, and the regeneration of traditional crafts, creating a "green feast" integrating technology, nature, and humanity.

Among them, the fully bio-based polymer material BioFleax™ developed by Leaf Biotech made its debut, garnering widespread attention. "We use renewable resources like straw, corn cobs, and recycled fabrics, transforming them into sustainable fibers through professional technology. It features properties like moisture-wicking and quick-drying, natural antibacterial, and ecological sun protection, making it more comfortable to wear," said an enterprise representative. "Shaping sustainable fashion from the source" has become an industry trend with unlimited possibilities.

On the opening day of the MODE Shanghai, the M SPACE opening forum simultaneously commenced. Chinese fashion brands and principals shared how to enhance brand resilience through cultural accumulation around the theme of "Long-termism," promoting brands from local to global, and providing ideas for high-quality development. During the exhibition, relevant enterprises and institutions will discuss topics such as brand globalization, physical retail, scent fashion, and sustainable certification.
