Changning launches autumn CityWalk route featuring parks, art and heritage

This golden October, the Changning District Landscaping and City Appearance Authority has introduced a curated CityWalk route highlighting seven distinctive spots, blending art performances, historic lanes, ecological pathways, and stories of urban renewal and cultural heritage.

Zhongshan Park

A century-old landmark of Changning, Zhongshan Park is known for its 12 scenic areas, each charming in different seasons. Licensed street performers from the 11th Shanghai Street Art Festival have offered diverse shows these days including singing, instrumental music, and magic.

Tip: Visit on a sunny afternoon; relax on the large lawn and enjoy the autumn breeze.

Yuyuan Road

The Changning section of Yuyuan Road has retained much of its original residential atmosphere. Old-style shikumen buildings trace the evolution of modern Shanghai history, while independent bookstores, boutique cafés, and creative shops invite slow exploration.

Tip: Start from the intersection of Yuyuan Road and Dingxi Road, and stroll toward Jiangsu Road. Be sure to visit the Yuyuan Public Market for a mix of old Shanghai vibe and trendy culture.

Wuyi Road Neighborhood

Here you’ll find star landmarks like Wuyi|MIX320, transformed from old factory spaces into a trendy hub that preserves industrial aesthetics, and community cultural venues such as Huayang Art Museum.

Tip: Go after 10 am to explore Wuyi|MIX320 and WYSH, sample local snacks for lunch, then wander slowly along the tree-lined street to experience the area’s tranquil yet dynamic charm.

New Hongqiao Central Garden

This 130,000-square-meter garden features a 10,000-square-meter central lake connected by winding streams. Plant landscapes dominate, with flowers blooming in every season. The central fountain offers great photo opportunities, and the mid-lake pavilion and zigzag bridge evoke classic Jiangnan scenery.

Tip: The park is open 24/7 with free admission. Bring a picnic mat and relax on the lawn by the lake.

Changning Folk Culture Center

The center hosts permanent folk exhibitions showcasing local traditions, festivals, and handicrafts like paper-cutting, embroidery, and bamboo weaving. Regular intangible cultural heritage workshops are offered, such as making zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival or mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival.

Tip: Open 9:00–17:00 (closed Mondays). Ideal for a family day—combine a morning visit to Shanghai Zoo with an afternoon of folk culture experiences.

Changning Outer Ring Ecological Greenway

Stretching 6.25 kilometers, this “jade ribbon” greenway links flower fields, forests, boardwalks, and viewing bridges. It also incorporates cycling, cafés, parent-child science activities, and brand exhibitions.

Tip: Enter from Guangshun Road N. and walk or bike 2–3 kilometers to experience the core section.

Linkong Music Park

Located at 592 Guangshun Road N., the 99,016-square-meter park includes 76,076 square meters of green space and can host events for up to 1,000 people. Music-inspired design runs throughout the park, which now offers child-friendly musical play facilities while preserving native trees such as magnolias, blending music experiences with natural leisure.

Tip: Great for a weekend family outing; bring a tent to camp on the large lawn.

Changning has set out to accelerate the development of the Hongqiao Enterprise Overseas Headquarters Cluster as an influential and radiating hub domestically and globally. The plan includes building a “model” headquarters hosting area, creating a “15-minute globalization service circle,” and attracting high-level corporate overseas headquarters.

The conference invited several authoritative experts and industry leaders to share forward-looking insights. Sun Maosong, a professor from Tsinghua University, discussed challenges and opportunities brought by new AI technologies.

Multiple parallel forums were held, covering themes such as global economic trends, overseas expansion models, brand growth, and industry expansion. An online European buyer procurement matchmaking and brand launch session also provided a targeted platform for participating enterprises to explore business cooperation.

The event also featured AI interactive experiences, showcase sessions for benchmark enterprises, and overseas business salons, offering practical advice and resource networking opportunities for companies.

From November 1 to 15, market entities including live streaming platforms, MCN agencies, retail enterprises, and brand companies across the city will roll out over 60 online and offline themed live streaming activities. These will focus on seven key sectors: domestic trendy products and time-honored brands, fashion and trendy toys, local lifestyle services, popular products from the China International Import Expo, cultural and tourism consumption, industrial empowerment, and digital commerce for rural revitalization.

During the launch ceremony, four live streaming economic clusters—Changning, Yangpu, Songjiang, and the Hongqiao International Central Business District—along with Chongming District, announced their supporting activities. Seven key platforms, bases, and enterprises unveiled their featured thematic events. Changning-based enterprise Spring Tour will conduct a "Double 11 Domestic & Outbound Tourism Consumption Live Stream," covering popular destinations such as Changbai Mountain, Japan, and various island resorts.

Shanghai's Online Anchor Training Base was established in Changning, providing comprehensive support for live streaming talent, including theoretical training, skills enhancement, and professional standards.

To foster the healthy and orderly development of the live streaming industry, the nation's first local standard for live streaming e-commerce was released on-site. This standard refines operational requirements for live streaming rooms across the entire "people, goods, and venue" chain, covering key aspects such as product selection, anchor conduct, and after-sales service.

During the event, nine influential internet personalities from various fields were appointed as “ambassadors” to experience Changning’s consumption friendly environment. Through diverse perspectives, they will explore Changning's commercial areas and streets, using their lenses and words to promote the district's high-quality services and friendly environment, thereby enhancing its appeal as an international consumption destination.

Cloud Nine mall marks 20th anniversary with new partnerships and upgrades

The Cloud Nine Shopping Center will celebrate its 20th anniversary from December 19 to 28, officials announced at a press briefing.

Since opening in 2005 at the interchange of Shanghai Metro Lines 2, 3, and 4, Cloud Nine has been a pioneering rail-integrated commercial complex with a gross floor area of 220,000 square meters, attracting an average daily footfall of over 200,000 visitors. As of October 6 this year, the mall’s annual sales have already exceeded 10 billion yuan (US$1.40 billion).

“Amid evolving consumer demands and the wave of digitalization, Cloud Nine aims to be more than a shopping mall—it will become a 'super engine' connecting daily life, art and culture, personalized needs, and emotional value,” said Tong Jinquan, chairman of Cloud Nine’s owner Changfeng Group.

Onsite, Cloud Nine signed strategic partnership agreements with brands including Maogeping, Camel Outdoor Sports City, Shuangying Technology (authorized partner of Unitree), and DJI. The digital art concept store of Maogeping, a leading Chinese makeup brand, is set to open in Cloud Nine on January 1. Meanwhile, Camel Outdoor Sports City, as the flagship direct-operated store under Camel Group, will create a one-stop consumption space catering to families and casual outdoor enthusiasts.

The exterior façade enhancement project of the mall is expected to be completed by January 1, supporting its transformation from a “commercial landmark” into a “social and lifestyle hub.”

Additionally, the “Cloud Nine 2005–2015 Exclusive Memories” global collection campaign has been launched. Submissions, including videos, photos, and physical memorabilia, are welcome, with selected entries receiving dining vouchers and limited-edition gifts.
