On November 5, the 8th China International Import Expo officially opened in Shanghai, drawing global attention to the city. The key building facade lighting enhancement project along the Inner Ring Elevated Road in Changning District was also completed. Eight core buildings were connected to form a luminous corridor combining artistic quality and humanistic warmth, adding brilliance to the CIIE with radiant lights and infusing new charm into Shanghai's nightscape.

As an industrial park under the Garment Group, linear light sources were added to its facade, precisely outlining the building's original contours. Combined with the light-shadow characteristics of the glass curtain wall, a richly layered visual effect was created, making the modern ambiance of the industrial park more distinct at night.

This historic building used light as a brush and shadows as ink to reshape its skyline and delicately present its architectural texture. Through clever design that interweaves light and shadow, the unique charm of this classic building blossoms at night, becoming a scenic blend of retro and modernity along the elevated road.

As a residential building, its lighting enhancement project was implemented alongside the "Beautiful Home" renovation initiative. It highlights the building's characteristics while fully considering residents' living needs. By pre-installing light shields, adjusting fixture angles, and reducing brightness, light interference was effectively minimized, allowing warm light to safeguard a livable atmosphere.

Also a residential building, Lianye Building features an elegant curved facade. The project integrated lighting enhancement with the "Beautiful Home" initiative, highlighting the building's curved beauty while thoughtfully avoiding disturbances through multiple light control measures, ensuring both nighttime aesthetics and resident comfort.

The two buildings used 3,000K warm color temperature light sources paired with fully dimmable fixtures. By precisely controlling brightness and illumination angles, the project achieved architectural aesthetic expression while minimizing light pollution, creating a warm and comfortable nighttime light environment for residents.

New Discovery Dream Garden

As a distinctive business industrial park, its Shikumen-style red brick facade is a highlight. The project used hand-painted cable tray covers to conceal lighting wiring, achieving "restoration to its original state" and preserving the building's inherent character. Simultaneously, the rooftop garden was transformed into a fairy-tale-like nightscape, offering a unique charm when viewed from the elevated road.

As a core window for government services, the project completed the overall lighting of the building while precisely focusing on the national emblem area. The national emblem, illuminated by the lights, shines brightly, highlighting the solemnity and dignity of the Party and government offices.

The construction period for this project was only one month, facing dual challenges of a tight schedule and heavy tasks. Adhering to the principle of "safety first, quality foremost," the District Landscaping & City Appearance Administrative Bureau, together with relevant units, strictly maintained safety baselines, rigorously ensured engineering quality, and precisely managed design, installation, and commissioning, successfully completing the construction of the new landscape lighting facilities.

The project adopted a "people-oriented, green ecology" core design philosophy, resolutely rejecting excessive lighting. Through deep integration of art and technology, it achieved harmonious coexistence between light and the city. Based on differences in building attributes, the design team implemented differentiated solutions: residential buildings used 3,000K warm yellow light, employing soft projection and wall-washing techniques to outline contours while strictly controlling glare interference; office and public buildings used 4,000K neutral white light to emphasize vertical lines and massing layers, faithfully restoring facade materials and colors, and showcasing a solemn, modern character.

During project implementation, the temporary Party branch of the cityscape environment support team consolidated efforts through Party-building collaborations and ensured quality standards through joint inspections, guaranteeing the project met specifications.

In the next phase, the District Landscaping & City Appearance Administrative Bureau will refine the "one-building-one-file" whole-process management mechanism and develop differentiated lighting plans for weekdays, holidays, and major events. It will also strengthen industry guidance for self-built lighting by social units along key commercial areas and important projects, integrating them into unified district-level centralized control management. This will continuously polish the city's nightscape, making it both dazzling and comfortably elegant, ensuring that Changning's nightscape not only beautifies Shanghai but also benefits the people.
