Changning District firms shine at 8th CIIE with global debuts

More than 30 exhibitors from Changning District showcased their latest innovations at the 8th China International Import Expo, which concluded on November 10, highlighting the district's strengths in technology and global trade.

Westwell made the global debut of its full-scenario intelligent logistics sandtable, detailing product layouts across key logistics nodes such as air, sea, and land ports, factories, and multimodal transport scenarios.

Bosch China unveiled the world's smallest particulate matter sensor, for the first time at the CIIE.

Michelin introduced its rigid inflatable boat made with FCG composite coating fabric, marking its China debut.  

Herbalife launched MultiBurn, a plant-based metabolic health supplement, for the first time in China.  

Brother Group showcased for the first time a computer embroidery machine equipped with AI technology.  

Ingersoll Rand presented multiple core new products in vacuum pumps and blowers, making global and Asia-Pacific premieres. 

Johnson Controls brought two heavyweight new machinery products for their China debut.  

In the Consumer Goods section, Ikea globally launched its Fössta Horse Year collection for Chinese New Year, creatively displaying six "elderly-friendly" living zones.  

Sigma demonstrated several new cameras and lenses, merging optical technology with visual artistry.  

Tommy Hilfiger debuted its Spring 2026 Chinese New Year collection worldwide, paying tribute to the Spring Festival.  

Asics introduced multiple new shoe models and exclusive colorways for the first time. 

Australian jewelry brand Label premiered its "Tibetan Angel" necklace at the expo.

Theland unveiled its 4.0 grass-fed Omega-3 high-protein milk globally.  

And New Union displayed over 50 food products from South America, Asia, and Europe.

Autumn palette unfolds along Changning's greenway

The outer-ring ecological greenway in Changning District is now adorned with its finest autumn colors. A variety of deciduous trees are working their "color magic," transforming the urban green corridor into a poetic landscape and making it a popular destination for residents seeking the seasonal charm.

Upon entering the greenway, visitors are welcomed by the subtle, sweet fragrance of osmanthus flowers. A leisurely stroll reveals the Chinese tallow trees, whose emerald-green leaves now give way to varying shades of vibrant red, glowing brilliantly in the sunlight and adding a striking touch to the autumn scenery.

Not far away, ginkgo trees have quietly dressed in pale yellow, their fan-shaped leaves shimmering in the light like strings of delicate lanterns.

Visitors are seen strolling and chatting with companions, pausing to capture the scenery, or playing with children chasing fallen leaves—together sketching a warm and lively urban tableau.

Shanghai Gymnastics Center lifts 3,600-ton steel truss in renovation milestone

The renovation of the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center recently achieved a critical milestone - a massive steel truss structure weighing 3,600 tons and spanning 84 meters was lifted into its final position.

This primary truss layer, positioned 30.55 meters above ground, represents an exceptionally large-span steel structure with significant technical challenges. Faced with risks associated with height, precision requirements, and coordination complexities, the project team ultimately adopted the "in-situ ground assembly + integrated hydraulic lifting" method. By assembling the structure on the ground before synchronously hoisting it, the team significantly reduced high-altitude work risks and substantially shortened the construction timeline.

Prior to this achievement, the project team completed multiple tasks within just two months, including the installation of heavy tower cranes, in-situ ground assembly of the steel trusses, application of fireproof coatings, installation of dampers, and the fitting of mechanical and electrical pipelines within the truss layer. All work passed rigorous quality inspections and pre-lift condition assessments.

Yao Yuan from the Changning District Sports Venue Management Center said that following the successful lift and a day of structural stability monitoring, a two-week period of aerial welding has started. The entire main steel structure construction is expected to be completed by January 2026.

AustCham Shanghai delegation explores investment opportunities in Changning

A delegation from the Australian Chamber of Commerce Shanghai recently visited key enterprises in Changning District, including Meetsocial and the Greater Hongqiao Business Service Center, to explore new opportunities for two-way investment cooperation during the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030).

The AustCham Shanghai, comprising over 400 Shanghai-born entrepreneurs based in Australia, is dedicated to creating development opportunities for Chinese and Australian businesses. During the 8th China International Import Expo, the chamber showcased products from its member companies at the Australia Pavilion.

During the symposium, representatives from various sectors such as artificial intelligence, finance, food processing, real estate, and tea shared practical experiences in supporting Chinese brands' global expansion and facilitating Australian companies' entry into the Chinese market. They also expressed interest in deepening cooperation with Changning.

Officials from the Changning Investment Promotion Office presented the district's superior investment environment, highlighting its strategic location, high level of openness, supporting industrial policies, and enterprise talent services. Representatives from the Changning Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce also shared innovative practices in serving enterprises.

Prior to the symposium, the delegation visited Meetsocial, where they learned about the company's success in leveraging artificial intelligence to drive digital transformation and provide comprehensive digital marketing services for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas. 

At the Greater Hongqiao Business Service Center, the delegation explored functional areas such as the digital business experience zone and the self-service "Government Online-Offline" zone, experiencing firsthand the policies and measures implemented by Changning to create an efficient, convenient, and high-quality business environment.

Changning celebrates 5th anniversary of Hongqiao Friendship Alliance

Changning District held a thematic event marking the 5th anniversary of the Hongqiao Friendship Alliance, Shanghai's first district-level exchange platform for outstanding expats, reviewing its development journey and fruitful achievements over the past five years while outlining a new blueprint for future cooperation and deepening international friendly exchanges.

To recognize the dedicated contributions of alliance members in their respective fields, Changning District presented them with exclusive commemorative trophies. District Director Liu Ping presented the alliance with a comprehensive service pack themed "Love Changning, Best Hongqiao."

Speaking on behalf of all alliance members, Anu Rathninde, the alliance chairman, winner of the 2025 Shanghai Magnolia Gold Award, and president of Asia Pacific at Johnson Controls (China) Investment Co Ltd, expressed gratitude for the high-quality services and excellent resources provided by Changning over the past five years.

During a dialogue session following the ceremony, Liu briefed the latest economic and social developments in Changning.
