On December 19, the special session of the "Best Hongqiao" Business Roundtable for Taiwan-funded Enterprises and the Symposium Marking the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Changning Working Committee of the Shanghai Taiwan Investors Association were grandly held at the Changning Government Office Building. Liu Ping, deputy secretary of the CPC District Committee and district director, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, sharing friendship and discussing cooperation with representatives from Taiwan-funded enterprises.

This year, to further enhance the "Best Hongqiao" brand, deepen government-enterprise communication, and consolidate development synergy, Changning launched the "Best Hongqiao" International Business Roundtable. This symposium was the seventh session of the year and the first dedicated specifically to Taiwan-funded enterprises.

In his speech, Liu extended warm congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Changning Working Committee of the Shanghai Taiwan Investors Association. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Taiwan-funded enterprises for their long-term participation in Changning's economic and social development and their active contributions to promoting cross-strait economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation. He noted that since the reform and opening-up, a large number of outstanding Taiwan-funded enterprises have chosen and rooted themselves in Changning, thriving on this vibrant land. They have not only achieved their own business growth but also brought new technologies and new business models to Changning, enriching the regional economic structure and fostering emotional bonds and cultural integration between compatriots on both sides of the strait.

Liu emphasized that Changning District has always upheld the concept of "one family across the strait" and attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation with Taiwan. He encouraged Taiwan-funded enterprises to maintain confidence, proactively and steadily adapt to environmental changes, dare to innovate and break through, identify opportunities in the complex market environment, and continuously introduce more competitive products and business models. Changning will also fully leverage its geographical and policy advantages, continuously optimize the business and innovation environment, and provide Taiwan-funded enterprises with the most trustworthy, efficient, and proactive quality services, empowering their development, deepening cross-strait exchanges and integration, and enhancing the well-being of Taiwanese compatriots.

During the symposium, the Chairman of the Changning Working Committee of the Shanghai Taiwan Investors Association reviewed the past 30 years during which the Working Committee has served as a bridge and bond, aligning with Changning's development. He said that in the future, it would continue to serve as a strong backbone and reliable support for Taiwanese enterprises and businesspeople, contributing to the high-quality economic and social development of Changning. Representatives from Taiwan-funded enterprises, including Chailease International, Synnex, Uni-President Enterprises, BenQ Corp., Sino Wealth Electronic, Dr. Morita, SinoPac Holdings, Anfa Clinic, Lytone, Teco Electric & Machinery, and Baker’s Kingdom, delivered speeches in sequence. The entrepreneurs fondly recalled their journey of rooting in Changning and pursuing development together, provided detailed introductions of their achievements across various fields, and fully acknowledged Changning's continuous efforts over the years in optimizing the business environment and improving the industrial ecosystem. Based on their business needs, the enterprise representatives put forward constructive opinions and suggestions. Responsible officials from relevant departments, including the District Development and Reform Commission, District Talent Work Bureau, District Taiwan Affairs Office, District Commerce Commission, District Market Supervision Bureau, District Investment Promotion Office, and District Taxation Bureau, responded to enterprise demands in accordance with their respective responsibilities, addressed specific issues through communication and clarification, and defined follow-up implementation measures and timelines.
