On April 16, the “New Quality Materials, Clusters for Win-Win” Electronics Materials and Chemical Industry Technology Exchange was held in Changning District. The event specially invited trinamiX, an innovative subsidiary of global chemical giant BASF, to share its technologies. It aimed to build a service platform integrating “government, chambers, finance, and enterprises” as well as “industry, academia, research, and application,” gather innovation resources, and help Shanghai Silicon Lane create an open, win-win innovation community.

Founded in 2015, Germany based trinamiX GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of BASF SE, the world’s largest chemical company, and employs more than 220 specialists. The company has deep expertise in software development, machine learning, and sensor production, and is committed to translating cutting edge research into biometric and near infrared spectroscopy solutions, serving clients across various industries worldwide in material analysis, health monitoring, and other fields.

At this technology exchange event, Lothar Laupichler, senior vice president of BASF and president of trinamiX, was specially invited to deliver a keynote speech titled “Cooperation and Opportunities with BASF trinamiX Technology,” showcasing the company’s advanced technologies. Laupichler detailed trinamiX’s world leading facial authentication solutions, portable near infrared spectroscopy analysis tools, and personal spectroscopy applications that can be integrated into smart devices. These technologies are highly aligned with the key industries of Shanghai Silicon Lane, such as electronic materials and life health, providing new technological pathways and cooperation opportunities for local industries to upgrade toward high end, intelligent, and green development.

In the subsequent interactive exchange session, representatives from research institutions including the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as more than 20 technology enterprises in fields such as electronic materials, artificial intelligence, life health, and intelligent manufacturing, engaged in lively discussions with the trinamiX team on technical details, application scenarios, and potential collaboration. Participating companies noted that the exchange not only broadened their international perspectives but also connected them with technology and resources, and they looked forward to deeper joint R&D or business cooperation in the future.

A promotional video on Changning District’s investment environment was also screened, comprehensively showcasing the district’s recent achievements in industrial development, office economy, and business environment optimization. China CITIC Bank Gubei Sub branch gave a special presentation on “full life cycle services for tech enterprises,” exploring how to precisely irrigate innovative enterprises with financial support.

The District United Front Work Department and the District Federation of Industry and Commerce have always adhered to the philosophy of “doing their utmost to be the best partners and gold medal service providers for enterprises,” actively building bridges for exchange and cooperation between government and enterprises, banks and enterprises, among enterprises, and between domestic and overseas partners. As one of the series of activities of the 2026 Shanghai Private Economy High Quality Development Service Month, this technology exchange was a precise service provided by the District United Front Think Tank Federation, in collaboration with the District Science and Technology Commission, the District Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Shanghai Electronic Materials Association, CITIC Bank, and other parties, to help enterprises integrate into the Shanghai Silicon Lane science and innovation ecosystem.
