On the morning of April 24, the one month long 2026 Shanghai International Flower Show Changning Sub venue opened as scheduled in Zhongshan Park. Under the theme “Flower Blooming in Circle of Friends – A Journey Through Brand Floral Charm,” the event deeply integrates culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and ecological greening. Connecting five major business districts, launching IP mascots, and creating diverse markets, it will offer citizens a spring flower feast that is viewable, playable, wanderable, and takeaway able.

Centered around Zhongshan Park, the Changning sub venue joins forces with five commercial circles – the Wutong Happiness Circle, Zhongshan Park Circle, Tianshan Hongqiao Circle, Xijiao Forest Life Circle, and Linkong Livat Circle – blending park flowers, neighborhood greenery, and commercial vitality into a citywide flower viewing landscape of “city in garden, flowers in city.” Citizens will encounter flowers everywhere as they go shopping, relax, and explore.

At the opening ceremony, the Changning Flower Map was unveiled, as the five major business districts worked together to paint a new picture of integrating culture, tourism, commerce, sports, exhibitions, and green spaces. Over the next month, the district will host nearly 300 themed events, from thematic exhibitions and interactive experiences to leisure markets, continuously brightening Changning’s spring atmosphere.

The most anticipated highlight for citizens is the Changning sub venue’s IP mascots for the 2026 Shanghai International Flower Show – “Wuwu” and “Tongtong.” Inspired by plane trees, these two AI powered plush dolls are not only adorably cute but also capable of voice conversations, memory learning, and emotional development. They are urban companions that can accompany, interact with, and grow a personality. Citizens can participate by checking in through a mini program on site, collecting cards at the business districts, or sharing posts on social media – and have a chance to take Wuwu and Tongtong home.

At the event, floral designers and researchers from professional horticultural institutions and research units appeared on site, bringing a variety of new flower varieties and sharing stories of horticultural cultivation and urban greening, revealing the refined and livable ecological foundation of Changning through every leaf and blossom.

During the flower show, Zhongshan Park will also host immersive experiences such as a natural life market, a food market, and the Cloud Nine “Urban Wilderness” market. On May 20, a group wedding ceremony will be held in Zhongshan Park as part of Changning’s Happy May International Family Week, letting floral fragrances accompany moments of happiness. Meanwhile, a “Blooming All the Way” themed double decker bus is now in service, offering free rides between the park and major business districts, allowing citizens to enjoy spring scenery and explore Changning by bus.

Flowers fill the city, and beauty is everywhere. The Changning sub venue of the 2026 Shanghai International Flower Show uses flowers as a medium to make the city warmer and life more textured. With a full month of wonderful events, citizens are invited to step into the spring light, embrace the blossoms, and immerse themselves in the unique charm of “Changning, the Park City.”
Bai Xueru, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changning District Committee and executive deputy director of Changning District; Xu Dongxin, second level inspector of the Shanghai Landscaping & City Appearance Administration; and Xu Jiandong, member of the Party Committee and vice president of Shanghai Construction Group, attended the event.
