On July 22, the "2026 Touring Changning Together with Overseas Students: A Journey Together" program officially launched.The program invited over 40 faculty members and students from overseas universities such as Cornell University and the University of Chicago to visit Changning. Through various means including introductions to the district's overall situation, policy briefings, discussions, needs matching, and site visits, the program aimed to help overseas students experience Changning's regional development environment and innovative entrepreneurial vitality.

At the welcoming ceremony, relevant officials from the functional departments of Changning District gave a comprehensive introduction to the general situation of Changning District and its talent policies. The chief business service officer of the East Hongqiao International Youth Science and Technology Innovation Center also introduced innovation and entrepreneurship-related support such as "Hongqiao-Shanghai Entrepreneurship Bay" and the OPC Special Competition. The list of overseas university activities under the theme of "Touring Changning Together with Overseas Students: A Journey Together" was released on site.

During the discussion and exchange session, representatives from overseas universities, overseas students, and enterprises interacted and exchanged views with functional departments on topics such as overseas talent exchange and cooperation, talent innovation and entrepreneurship, and talent attraction and cultivation. The event also included company presentations and job matchmaking, with several companies, including Black Lake, DiProx, Junxiaobai, and Vision Academy, communicating on-site with overseas students to match them with suitable positions, comprehensively supporting overseas students in exploring career development opportunities in Changning.
Xu Naiyi, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Minister of the District Organization Department, attended the event and delivered a speech. Officials from relevant departments including the District Talent Work Bureau, the District Development and Reform Commission, the District Commerce Commission, the District Science and Technology Commission, and the District Investment Promotion Office also attended.





During the event, the students visited the Shanghai Hongqiao Overseas Talent One-Stop Service Center, gaining a firsthand understanding of the center's "one-stop acceptance" service model and its comprehensive service system covering the entire lifecycle of "settlement, housing and accomodation, employment, and entrepreneurship" for returned overseas students. They also experienced firsthand the friendly and convenient talent development ecosystem of Changning District. The students further visited leading companies in the district, such as Shanghai Black Lake Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Li-Ning Sports Goods Co., Ltd., experiencing firsthand the innovative vitality of digital manufacturing and the modern business cluster, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the strong momentum for high-quality development in Changning.



This event provided overseas students with a platform to explore Changning and learn about its industries, and also built a bridge for communication and exchange between Changning and overseas talent. From July 23rd to July 25th, Changning also held university-enterprise forums and summer recruitment fairs for overseas talent.Through the forum, roadshows, on-site interviews, and expert consultations, a long-term cooperation mechanism between overseas universities and Changning enterprises would be established to help overseas students accurately connect with high-quality employers and positions in Changning.
The event was guided by the Office of the Leading Group for Talent Work of the District Party Committee and jointly organized by the District Talent Work Bureau, Changning Overseas Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center, and the American Universities in China Association.
In recent years, Changning District, leveraging its core location advantage within the Hongqiao International Open Hub, has collaborated with various parties to broaden its global talent recruitment channels, fully leveraging the roles of Changning Overseas Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center, and providing a broad platform for all types of talent to showcase their abilities and pursue their careers.Looking ahead, Changning District will continue to focus on the overall regional economic and social development, centering on the strategic theme of "attracting new and high quality talent," adhering to a talent demand-oriented approach, accelerating the construction of a more competitive talent development system, and implementing more proactive, open, and effective talent policies.This will provide strong talent support and lay the foundation for Shanghai's development into a high-level talent hub and for Changning's accelerated transformation into a world-class international urban district with global influence.
