From September 2nd to September 6th, the Radisson Blu Yangtze Shanghai will host a "German Beer Night." Come and experience this 27-year-old beer extravaganza that blends authentic Bavarian style.

As a designated event of the Shanghai Tourism Festival, this will be an annual extravaganza blending authentic Bavarian charm. The event venue will be transformed into a giant tent in the traditional Bavarian style, with blue and white flags intertwined with lights, creating a rich festive atmosphere. Band will not only play Bavarian music but will also incorporate elements of Chinese pop music, igniting the enthusiasm of the audience through a fusion of cultures.

The Weizen beer will be the official beer at the event.  

Founded in 1040, the Weizen beer continues a brewing tradition spanning nearly a millennium, using water, malt, hops, and yeast as its main ingredients. Its delicate, creamy foam, refreshing malt aroma, and signature clove and banana flavors perfectly showcase the authentic Bavarian style.

Besides music and beer, a wide variety of German cuisine is also a major highlight of this year's event.

The buffet will feature authentic Bavarian flavors, showcasing a variety of classic dishes. The signature crispy roasted pork knuckle boasts a golden-brown, crispy skin and tender meat, served with a special mustard sauce for a rich German taste. Thirty edge-side AI projects showcased at competition in Changning

On August 4th and 5th, the finals of the 2026 “Shanghai Silicon Alley” Edge-Side AI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Changning.

The competition attracted nearly 100 projects, with 30 projects making it to the finals to discuss “how AI can run in the closest places to the end users".

“Edge-side AI means that AI capabilities no longer rely on the cloud, but are deployed at local devices. Compared to the general track, the significance of this professional competition lies in breaking down the problems into more specific areas,” according to an official with the district science and technology commission, the competition set up enterprise tracks and team tracks, attracting participating projects focusing on integrated circuits, edge AI large models, embodied intelligence, and other directions, covering chips, frameworks, hardware, and applications.

The final invited heads of investment and financing institutions, university experts, and professionals from the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute to serve as judges. The projects that advanced in the final roadshow competed on their core technologies, product maturity, and ability to be implemented in various scenarios.

These latest projects also include innovative applications that are closer to everyday life, such as GGAI's "Industrial-Grade Computing Power AI Financial Workstation" and Shenzhen Hezhu Technology's "Digital Labor Market Roundtable Solution."

Edge AI spans algorithms, chips, systems, and applications. Many teams write models and build complete systems at the same time. Early-stage projects, in particular, need to be identified, screened, and further incubated on professional platforms. Currently, Changning District is leveraging platforms such as "Shanghai Silicon Alley" and municipal and district-level innovation platforms to provide these high-tech teams with space and resources from proof-of-concept to pilot-scale amplification. This professional competition has established a complete supportive and empowerment system.

Projects winning the first, second, and third prizes in the finals will directly advance to the 2026 "Start-up In Shanghai" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition at the municipal level and will be given priority recommendations to hundreds of leading investment institutions.

Enterprises or teams meeting certain conditions can also receive priority cooperation opportunities with leading companies in the industry, as well as innovation funding from both the municipal and district levels, and district-level housing subsidies and residency qualifications for outstanding talents.

This competition was guided by the organizing committee of the"Start-up In Shanghai" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and co-organized by the Changning District Science and Technology Commission and Shanghai Hongqiao Zhiyu Technology Development Co Ltd.

The 4th Changning Mass Sports Season kicked off

The opening ceremony of the Changning District's "8.8 National Fitness Day" themed activities and the launching ceremony of the 4th Changning Mass Sports Season "Champion Challenge" in 2026 were held on August 7th at the Raffles City Changning.

A series of activities, including a smart cycling challenge, an urban orienteering competition, and a sports carnival, were staged, attracting hundreds of citizens participating enthusiastically.

At the same time, 50 "Happy Changning" mass fitness events and 100 free evening training courses were launched. From communities to industrial parks, from commercial districts to public spaces, a wide variety of events and free courses will cover all age groups, allowing more citizens to enjoy the health and happiness brought by sports.

The Raffles City Changning, Longemont Changning, Hongqiao Nanfeng City, and Bailian Xijiao Shopping Mall each gave on-site presentations and were awarded the title of "Champion Challenge" partners. As a highlight of this year's Mass Sports Season, this event deeply integrates "culture, commerce, tourism, sports, exhibition, and greenery," with business districts serving as the competition venues and major landmarks are leverage as the running tracks.

Raffles City Changning has transformed its large lawn into an urban sports field, hosting events such as the opening ceremony, the smart cycling platform challenge, and the urban orienteering competition.

Changning Longemont is bringing together resources such as specialty restaurants, streets, night bazaars, and hotels to create a new urban leisure consumption scene that integrates food, culture, and leisure, and offers exclusive benefits for event participants.

Xijiao Bailian relies on more than 7,000 square meters of sports space to bring together more than 10 sports formats such as rock climbing, pickleball, basketball, tennis, and cycling, and regularly carries out community activities such as cycling and morning runs, continuously creating a new landmark for national fitness.

The "Explore Shanghai" Urban Orienteering Series in Changning welcomed 83 teams and approximately 250 participants, including adults, families, and international participants. They traversed major shopping landmarks and areas such as Raffles City Changning, Longemont Changning, Paris Spring Tianshan Mall, and Hongqiao Nanfeng City, experiencing new nighttime consumption scenarios in Changning through fun checkpoints.

This year's Mass Sports Season will run until October, during which Changning will host 50 mass sports events and launch 100 free fitness courses, covering diverse scenarios such as communities, industrial parks, and commercial districts.

From July 31 to August 20, Changning will also offer Changning Nighttime Enjoyment Vouchers, connecting sports with consumption to create a one-stop immersive experience of "play + sports + food + shopping," while continuously promoting the deep integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, exhibitions, and green spaces, allowing the city's vibrant atmosphere and sports vitality to resonate.

Poly Estate Suhejun Officially Unveiled, adding new residential complex in Changning

During the Suzhou Creek cruise tour, Poly Estate Suhejun, a brand-new waterfront residential project within the Changning Inner Ring Road, was officially unveiled, adding a new dimension to urban renewal and livable living on the Changning section of the Suzhou Creek.

As an important chapter in Shanghai's "One River, One Canal" development layout, the 11.2-kilometer Changning section of the Suzhou Creek has always carried the core functions of urban renewal, ecological improvement, and offering a livable environment for the people.

The project innovatively adopts the "floating island" design concept, raising the building's foundation as a whole, allowing the building to sit like a tranquil floating island on the banks of the Suzhou Creek. This not only creates a spatial hierarchy between the building and the ground but also provides unobstructed, multi-dimensional views, offering panoramic views of the winding Suzhou Creek and the lush greenery of the plane trees along its banks, showcasing the iconic waterfront ecological scenery of Changning.
