On the evening of August 7th, the lawn of Raffles City Changning was lit up and filled with dynamic music as the opening ceremony of the Changning District's "8.8 National Fitness Day" themed activities and the launching ceremony of the 4th Changning Mass Sports Season "Champion Challenge" in 2026 were held.A series of activities, including a smart cycling challenge, an urban orienteering competition, and a sports carnival, were staged, attracting hundreds of citizens participating enthusiastically.

Synchronized swimming world champion Wu Yiwen, badminton world champion Wang Yihan, and gymnastics world champion Fan Yilin jointly launched this year's Mass Sports Season "Champion Challenge". Four sports activities—cycling, pickleball, badminton, and rock climbing—are available at major the commercial districts and shopping areas, giving citizens not only the opportunity to participate but also the chance to interact closely with world champions and experience the charm of competitive sports.

At the same time, 50 "Happy Changning" mass fitness events and 100 free evening training courses were launched. From communities to industrial parks, from commercial districts to public spaces, a wide variety of events and free courses will cover all age groups, allowing more citizens to enjoy the health and happiness brought by sports.

The Raffles City Changning, Longemont Changning, Hongqiao Nanfeng City, and Bailian Xijiao Shopping Mall each gave on-site presentations and were awarded the title of "Champion Challenge" partners. Changning Longemont is bringing together resources such as specialty restaurants, streets, night bazaars, and hotels to create a new urban leisure consumption scene that integrates food, culture, and leisure, and offers exclusive benefits for event participants. Hongqiao Nanfeng City continues to integrate sports into its daily operations; it will not only host events such as urban orienteering, urban cycling, and rope skipping competitions, but has also introduced a nearly 1,000-square-meter Decathlon urban complex store and multiple sports brands to create a sports and social space shared by white-collar workers and families.Xijiao Bailian relies on more than 7,000 square meters of sports space to bring together more than 10 sports formats such as rock climbing, pickleball, basketball, tennis, and cycling, and regularly carries out community activities such as cycling and morning runs, continuously creating a new landmark for national fitness.

The "Explore Shanghai" Urban Orienteering Series in Changning welcomed 83 teams and approximately 250 participants, including adults, families, and international participants. They traversed major shopping landmarks and areas such as Raffles City Changning, Longemont Changning, Paris Spring Tianshan Mall, and Hongqiao Nanfeng City, experiencing new nighttime consumption scenarios in Changning through fun checkpoints.

The sports carnival included interactive activities such as street football challenges, soccer-style billiards, fun throwing games, plank challenges, rope skipping, and shuttlecock kicking. The market also featured stalls selling intangible cultural heritage items and handicrafts, which attracted many families and young residents to stop and take a deep dive. This year's Mass Sports Season will run until October, during which Changning will host 50 mass sports events and launch 100 free fitness courses, covering diverse scenarios such as communities, industrial parks, and commercial districts.From July 31 to August 20, Changning will also offer Changning Nighttime Enjoyment Vouchers, connecting sports with consumption to create a one-stop immersive experience of "play + sports + food + shopping," while continuously promoting the deep integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, exhibitions, and green spaces, allowing the city's vibrant atmosphere and sports vitality to resonate.
