As the 48th WorldSkills Competition drew to a close, Changning District's skills exhibition area at Hall 1.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) has successfully wrapped up its showcase for this year's WorldSkills Competition.

As Shanghai's only district‑level skills exhibition zone, Changning's booth centers on the theme "Craftsmen Build Dreams, Skills Shine in Changning." It features five distinctive experience zones integrating skills achievement displays, hands‑on vocational experiences and promotion of the spirit of craftsmanship.Throughout the expo, the booth remained highly popular. Many visitors made special trips to take part in activities, drawing a total of more than 16,000 visitors.


Experiencing new live‑stream sales models: E‑commerce skills on full display

In partnership with Buy Quickly Group and Shanghai Mao Geping Vocational Skills Training Co Ltd., the exhibition area created a combined experience of live‑stream e‑commerce and image customization.The live‑stream e‑commerce experience zone of Buy Quickly Group was a crowd‑pulling highlight. Visitors could sit at professional broadcasting stations and try real‑world product‑selling livestreams. Through large data screens, they gained direct insight into the full workflow of livestreaming, including product selection, sales scripts and traffic operation. Many visitors queued up for their first‑time experience as live‑stream hosts.

At the supporting image‑customization zone, makeup artists demonstrated light‑and‑shadow contouring, facial refinement and traditional‑Chinese‑style styling. Trial‑makeup seats were open to visitors. Makeup guidance for on‑camera looks was offered to livestream participants, seamlessly linking beauty‑artistry skills with live‑stream scenarios.

Exploring the new low‑altitude economy sector: Sci‑tech skills showcase youthful vitality

The low‑altitude‑economy themed experience zone included two segments: simulated flight challenges and hands‑on equipment assembly‑disassembly. It brought the professional know‑how behind the drone industry directly to the public.WorldSkills competitors from home and abroad also came to have a go.

One foreign WorldSkills competitor operated the flight simulator. Affected by simulated wind speeds and route conditions, he adjusted his control force multiple times before completing the pre‑set simulated flight route. He expressed his feelings."I have seen drones at work before. Operating one myself shows that steady flight demands precise control over hand force and angles. This skill is far from easy."


Fusion of ancient and modern tea‑making craftsmanship: Traditional ingenuity gains new vitality

The tea‑and‑coffee‑skills display area was filled with rich aromas. The Changning Tea Society presented traditional hand‑made tea‑processing demonstrations. Luckin Coffee set up skill demonstration booths, promotional screens and product display areas. Here, the profound heritage of traditional tea culture collided with the modern coffee‑consumption trend.Visitors ranged from middle‑aged and elderly guests fond of traditional crafts to young people keen on trendy beverages. Many overseas guests were drawn to the demonstrations and stopped to watch closely.

In fact, Changning's tea‑art team also took part in the "One Province, One Skill" showcase at this WorldSkills event. It delivered a 20‑minute original live tea‑art performance, one of only two selected entries from Shanghai.

Sci‑tech empowers smart mobility: Hard‑core skills drive industrial upgrading

The artificial‑intelligence and autonomous‑driving display area stood out for its cutting‑edge sci‑tech achievements.An interactive intelligent‑connected sand table reproduced real‑world port operations. Together with new‑energy heavy‑truck models, it demonstrated the full process of unmanned port transportation and explained the demand for skilled talent behind industrial upgrading.Many students and overseas exhibition guests paused here and used their mobile phones to record the sand‑table demonstrations.

Advancing livelihood‑service skills: Scientific fitness safeguards public health

At the scientific‑fitness and sports‑guidance experience zone, a team of gold‑medal winners from Shanghai’s vocational‑skills competition were on‑site throughout. Using professional assessment equipment, they provided free posture evaluations and fitness tests for visitors. They demonstrated corrective movements and popularized fitness misconceptions, drawing enthusiastic participants of all ages.

During the expo, WorldSkills competitors and international guests from multiple countries visited the booth, making it a window for overseas friends to learn about China's vocational‑skills development.Though the WorldSkills Expo showcase has concluded, Changning will keep advancing its skilled‑talent workforce development.
