MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show for Spring/Summer 2027 opened in Changning on October 8 under the theme "A Shared Vision of All Forms." The exhibition integrates diverse upstream and downstream industries. Its exhibits cover ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrances and a wide range of lifestyle products, further forming a full industrial chain from creative design to commercial application. Housed in Tower T2 of Crystal Bridge within the core Hongqiao-Tianshan business district, the venue sits close to Loushanguan Road Station of Metro Lines 2 and 15. Thanks to its favorable location and transport links, Changning serves as a vital hub for global new product launches, industrial resource convergence and the delivery of innovative value.

Overseas brands account for more than 50 percent of all exhibitors this season. Global resources, local innovation, cultural translation, material craftsmanship and lifestyle concepts converge on this single platform. The show demonstrates how fashion evolves from something "to be viewed" into something "to be perceived, chosen and worn," and maps out current trends in fashion consumption and industrial development.
On opening day, professional international buyers including Galeries Lafayette Paris, Italy's ANTONIOLI, New York-based 3NY, Vietnam's RUNWAY and Kazakhstan's Saks Fifth Avenue toured the booths to source goods. Multiple local independent designer brands have secured overseas orders, highlighting the high efficiency of professional business matchmaking and tangible industrial outcomes.
Homegrown Creativity in Changning: From Creative Ideas to Market Roots
In recent years, Changning District has supported fashion brands by providing venue space, policy incentives and business matchmaking services. More and more independent designers have stepped from their studios onto the international order-taking stage, forming a complete cultivation loop of "attracting talents with solid foundations, delivering targeted services, fostering industrial clusters." At this season's MODE show, a group of local original designers rooted in Changning make a collective debut, completing the key transition from "gaining visibility" to "being selected by the market."

YUN SHOWROOM, a brand service platform with years of deep roots in Changning, brings five featured brands to the exhibition. Among them, EYAMEY ITALY, a China-Italy collaborative brand, draws attention with its desert rock collection." The brand breaks the stereotype that intangible heritage crafts are "only for viewing and unfit for daily wear." It improves wild intangible heritage fabrics such as tussah silk using self-developed high-temperature printing technology to solve the irritation issue of raw materials. The fabrics are breathable, wrinkle-resistant and skin-friendly. Combined with semi-handmade and semi-machine heavy embroidery and modern Western silhouettes, the brand transforms traditional intangible heritage elements such as Yun brocade and Song brocade into ready-to-wear clothing for everyday people.

The brand's self-developed wild berry wilderness collection marks a major craft breakthrough. One meter of pure organic rose fiber fabric is extracted from 100 roses and releases natural rose fragrance when rubbed. Thanks to this unique domestic technology, the brand has received numerous inquiries from international buyers even before its overseas tour. It will stage its global debut at Milan Fashion Week at the end of October.

Another Changning-based independent designer brand zaiwǒ presents its collection themed "Memory is an indelible filter." It translates the designer's childhood memories of hometown Wenzhou into product language. Drawing inspiration from weathered textures of old Wenzhou buildings, rainbow hues of island dwellings and linear patterns of hollow window grilles, the brand handcrafted four exclusive prints, including flowers growing on wood, little butterflies, rainbow and blessing. It "sews" hometown nostalgia, childhood memories, island beaches and ocean waves into everyday garments.

This is the brand's second time joining MODE. It received an order from New York buyer 3NY on the opening day. Many visitors who once worried the prints would be too bright praised the well-saturated, vibrant color palette after trying on the pieces. Nurtured by Changning's consumer market, the brand has taken an important step from niche design to everyday mainstream fashion.
Convergence of Global Creativity: A New Two-Way Industrial Ecosystem
This season's MODE show features a multi-tiered lineup of established commercial brands, independent designers, emerging creators and professional service agencies. Creative talents from China, South Korea, Russia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the United States and other countries gather here, forming a brand matrix with global vision and dynamic Asian market vitality.

Russian avant-garde brand Zlatasiberia makes its debut at a large-scale international professional exhibition. The designer incorporates the vast natural landscapes of Siberia and color tones from old family archive photos into experimental new apparel designs, with production realized using Italian imported knitting yarn. The designer said Shanghai's fashion ecosystem is "astonishing." It brims with youthful energy and showcases deep integration of traditional Chinese culture and modern design. The city has full potential to develop its own distinct fashion style, and international brands experience far higher efficiency for business docking than expected.

Moreover, the exhibition partners with 10 high-quality showrooms to build a platform for brand display and business negotiation. International creative talents can access China's huge consumer market and realize product development leveraging Shanghai's supply chain strengths, achieving genuine two-way integration of global resources and local innovation.
Connecting to the Global Market: Chinese Brands Move Up the International Value Chain
As cross-border business exchanges remain active, Chinese brands are exploring diversified paths for internationalization. With its "home-ground internationalization" feature, MODE builds an efficient communication platform and creates a brand-new route for Chinese brands to "go global without leaving home."

EP YAYING, which first joined MODE last season and drew attention from international buyers, returns this year. It expands global connections with silk, Suzhou embroidery, cashmere and high-end women's wear collections. RAXXY, a technology-focused brand, combines patented 3D down technology with traditional weaving inspirations to precisely target high-end international channels, greatly boosting recognition of Chinese brands in technical high-end fashion products.

The contemporary interpretation of Eastern aesthetics has also achieved substantial progress. Brand Xunlü strikes a delicate balance between French relaxed chic and Eastern artistic blank-leaving conception. It reinterprets Chinese aesthetic vocabulary through modern tailoring. With clean lines, fine textures and understated details, the subtle and restrained Eastern temperament naturally fits daily scenarios including commuting and social events, continuing Eastern aesthetics in modern life in a light and contemporary style.
Sustainable Fashion Takes Root: Material Innovation for Daily Use
For the first time, this season's exhibition puts "material innovation" at the core of the industry. Its special zone "Material Space" gathers cutting-edge material enterprises such as BioFleax® and Polygiene alongside independent designers, breaking down industry barriers between material R&D and product design. It turns green sustainability from a conceptual advocacy into tangible, wearable daily products.

Joint works by NUTERM and UJOY3D mark the first application of PLA corn-based degradable materials in fashion home goods. Taking basic geometric shapes including circles, squares and polka dots as the creative starting point, the bright simple elements form playful shapes that can evoke emotions while fully meeting practicality and production requirements.
"Materials should not have only one life, nor design only one answer," said designer Peng Hongliang. Leveraging the digital manufacturing advantages of 3D printing, this solution can produce small home accessories as well as custom large-scale art installations. Many home brands and commercial space operators visiting the show have reached preliminary cooperation intentions on site. The displayed works are the first-generation products, and new iterations will be developed later.

By acting as an efficient business bridge, launching new product premieres and promoting regional coordination, this season's MODE show has gradually built a full-chain framework covering material research, design expression, brand operation, channel expansion and end consumption. When fashion transforms from a distant visual spectacle into real life, creativity gains sustained industrial foundations and consumer momentum. Centered on Crystal Bridge, MODE will also link with multiple professional exhibitions to extend the industrial vitality of professional order fairs into various urban consumption scenarios. Taking MODE as an opportunity, Changning District will continue to deliver targeted services for the fashion industry. It will keep improving venue provision, supporting brand cultivation and integrating culture, travel and consumption. More original designs will take root here, and more global creative resources will converge. Changning will continuously foster a high-quality new ecosystem for the fashion consumption industry.
