Located at 650 Xianxia Road, the Changning Culture and Art Center is a comprehensive recreational facility with contemporary characteristics. In 2007, it was ranked as the “1st Class Cultural Museum of China”. After its reconstruction, the Exhibition Hall of the Changning Culture and Art Center is advanced in facilities and beautiful in environment.
On the first floor, there is a modern hall for dancing and singing shows with a capacity of about 200 audiences. It is equipped with advanced dancing facilities and its brand new set of audio equipment is characterized by its excellent acoustic quality.
The second floor houses Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum, a plastic arts exhibition museum dedicated to exhibition, exchange and research of the contemporary art works. Covering an area of about 1,000 square meters, Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum has an exhibition line of about 270 meters, including an exhibition hall, a multifunctional hall for academic exchange, a collection room for art works, a reading room for art books as well as the office of the museum. Since its opening from October 18, 2009, it has hosted an array of influential art exhibitions including the “Exhibition for Art Works of Famous Shanghai Artists”, the “Paris‧Rainbow—Art Works of French Artists Daniaier‧Oslan‧Jell” and the “International Exchange Exhibition of Shanghai‧Incheon Water Color Paintings”. Besides, the “Shanghai Youth Chinese Zodiac Painting Exhibition” during the spring festival, the “Shanghai Powder Painting Annual Exhibition” and the exhibitions of art works from colleges and universities are also among the traditional exhibition items of Shanghai Hongqiao Contemporary Art Museum, which are highly popular among the visitors.
