About Changning
Changning is one of the downtown districts with leading comprehensive strength and the most balanced development in Shanghai. It governs nine communities and one town, covering an area of 37.19 square kilometers and a permanent population of 694,000.
In 2019, with the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region becoming a national strategy, Xinjing Town and Chengjiaqiao Community will be incorporated into Hongqiao International Central Business District, and the Changning part (including Shanghai Hongqiao Linkong Economic Demonstration Zone) in the international central business district will be expanded to 19.9 square kilometers for overall coordinated development.
