Former factory site to be renovated into emerging industry park

The site of Shanghai No. 4 Electric Meter Factory Co Ltd on 155 Wuyi Road in Changning District will be turned into an emerging industry park to accommodate the smart manufacturing and creative culture industry.
The project will be completed by the fourth quarter of this year. So far the structural fortification has been finished.
The historical side of the site will be preserved as it is a witness to both the development history of China’s instrumentation industry and the historical changes on Wuyi Road.
Of note, the environment of the nearby road has also been improved during the renovation as it has turned the former closed space into an open public space at the corner of the road.
For now, the focus is on renovating the façade of the building. The exterior wall along the street on Wuyi Road will use the strip window structure to allow more sunshine in and to keep it in accordance with the architecture style along the historic road.
