5th Shanghai Spring International Accordion Festival to kick off in Changning

The 5th Shanghai Spring International Accordion Cultural and Art Festival will kick off in Changning District on March 28. It will run until April 4. This year’s festival will invite world-renowned accordionists from Italy, Russia, and Serbia, as well as some countries along the “Belt and Road” to play with Chinese accordion ensembles. During the festival, artists will go to Changning Library, the Changning Cultural and Art Center, the Gubei International Community, the Ningbo Concert Hall and Jiading New City, allowing locals to enjoy a high-level feast of accordion art “at their doorstep.”

Launch Ceremony of 5th Shanghai Spring International Accordion Culture and Art Festival
The launch ceremony of this year’s accordion festival will be held for the first time at Changning Library, where famous accordion artists from countries along the Belt and Road, including Mirco Patarini, Una Sinistra, and Dragoslav Vasiljevic, will engage in in-depth cultural exchanges with the audience in a literary atmosphere.

Encountering Accordionists on the Street
During the event, at famous landmarks of international communities in Changning, residents may encounter unique accordion flash mobs at any time, and fully appreciate the spring atmosphere of an international and integrated community amidst the sounds of music and laughter.

International Accordion Concert Marking the 10th Anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative
An international accordion concert commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative will bring a high-level international music concert in Changning, with top accordion performers and teams from all over the world giving performances that combine technical expertise and artistic creativity.

Venue: Theater 520, Changning Culture and Art Center (No. 650, Xianxia Road, Changning District)
On the evening of April 1, a series of accordion art popularization activities will be held in suburban Jiading District. On the evening of April 4, top accordion performers will go to Ningbo in neighboring Zhejiang Province to bring a high-level, multi-style live performance for local audiences.
In addition, this year’s art festival will also launch special activities such as the accordion network exhibition in the Yangtze River Delta region, and the “Accordion+” creative short video network exhibition and evaluation, providing opportunities for accordion enthusiasts from the Yangtze River Delta region and even across the country to showcase their skills.
