Zhongshan Park honored as site of civilization practice
2023/03/22
Zhongshan Park has been recognized as one of the first batch of “Shanghai New Era Civilization Practice Parks” by the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau.

Part of the walls of the Zhongshan Park has been demolished for the merger of the park with a section of Wanhangdu Road and the Changning campus of East China University of Political Science and Law alongside the Suzhou Creek to create a waterfront leisure complex.

Zhongshan Park further promotes the construction of landscaping, water ecological environment, and cultural activities, striving to build a pleasant, civilized, and harmonious landscaping environment, displaying a new image of the park, telling the story of the park to visitors, and presenting a diverse world to them.

Zhongshan Park also carries forward the Chinese spirit, pools Chinese strength, and lets the public enjoy stage performances regularly. The Kunqu Opera classic “The Peony Pavilion” was staged in Zhongshan Park as part of the celebration of the Zhongshan Park Peony Cultural Festival.

The Shanghai Cohesion Project Museum in Zhongshan Park is the Party construction base of Changning District. In addition, in October 2022, Zhongshan Park held the 8th Shanghai International Nature Conservation Week and Ecological Practice, further expanding the functions of nature observation, forest ecology, biodiversity conservation, and injecting new impetus into the park’s educational and cultural functions.

Zhongshan Park is not only a place for leisure and amusement, but also inherits historical and cultural heritage and promotes ecological culture, and the life philosophy of love for green.

As a “New Era Civilization Practice Park,” it will play its part in the regional and even urban cultural construction.
