Suzhou River unveils two new hot spots

The Suzhou River Super Lane", the waterfront public space in Changning District, has become a new popular spot in Shanghai!
Located along the Suzhou River beneath the Jiangsu Rd N. Bridge, at the intersection of Changning, Jing'an, and Putuo districts, this area was once enclosed by walls.
After renovation, it has transformed into a diverse and distinctive waterfront public space, featuring retro seesaws, frosted "coin" benches, and interactive installations like the "beer barrel."
The inspiration for the "beer barrel" interactive installation comes from the Shanghai Brewery at 130 Yichang Road.
Painted in wheat yellow, the installation has two openings with screens that play artistic animations introducing the industrial history of the Suzhou River, cleverly combining historical culture and modern art.
The "coin" benches draw inspiration from the century-old Shanghai Mint along the Suzhou River, which witnessed the evolution of modern China's monetary system. These benches abstractly reinterpret minted coins from the factory into frosted resin seats, allowing citizens to linger, relax, and further understand and experience this historical period.
The Huazheng Suzhou River Trail, situated at the Changning Campus of East China University of Political Science and Law, is another noteworthy location along the Suzhou River.
This section of the Suzhou River Riverside Trail boasts 27 century-old buildings, making it a radiant gem in Shanghai's historical waterfront landscape.
The approximately 900-meter waterfront space seamlessly integrates with the Suzhou River and showcases the century-old architectural complex of East China University of Political Science and Law (located at 1575 Wanhangdu Road).
