New transfer passage to facilitate subway commutes

2024/02/05

According to the district construction and management commission, the construction of the transfer passage between Loushanguan Road Station of Metro Line 15 and Line 2 is planned to start in July, and it is expected to be put into use in the first half of 2025.

By then, passengers can transfer between Metro Line 15 and Line 2 without leaving the station, which will facilitate passenger travel and improve transfer efficiency.

Recently, the district construction and management commission, the district housing management bureau, the rail transit constructor and the New World Department Store Group signed an agreement on the construction and land acquisition of the transfer passage between Loushanguan Road Station of Metro Line 15 and Line 2, marking substantial progress in this project.

Metro Line 15 was put into operation in early 2021, but due to historical reasons such as the adjustment of the planned route, passengers need to transfer with Line 2 by leaving the station, with a transfer distance of about 350 meters, which is inconvenient.

According to the result of a preliminary investigation, the transfer can be achieved through the underground second floor of the Printemps Tianshan Store. An innovative approach was adopted to acquire part of the existing underground second floor to meet the functional requirements of using the store’s underground second floor for subway transfers.

At the same time, while constructing the transfer passage, Printemps Tianshan Store will also be upgraded and renovated.
