Major projects flourish in Changning District

Changning District held the 2024 major project groundbreaking and completion ceremony on Tuesday.
Four major projects including the Outer Ring west section traffic function improvement project, Eastern Airlines K1-01 plot, airport J-01 plot and Gubei Road complex officially started construction, while three key projects such as the Spring Airlines headquarters office building, Hongqiao talent apartments and Zhike Building were completed.
The highly anticipated Outer Ring west section (Changning section), stretching from Taopu Road in the north to Shenzhu Road in the south over a length of 18.1 kilometers, will create a mainline elevated road of the outer ring and ground-level auxiliary roads connecting the north and south.
Several buildings in Big Hongqiao area also reached key milestones in construction and completion.
The Eastern Airlines K1-01 plot commercial and rental residential project officially commenced with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan (US$486.79 million). This project includes an apartment hotel, scientific research offices and commercial offices, with a total construction area of approximately 176,000 square meters.
The completed Spring Airlines headquarters office building is located in Chengjiaqiao Subdistrict, with a total construction area of 43,000 square meters, consisting of two 7-story buildings with three underground levels.
The Zhike Building in Xianxia Subdistrict has a total construction area of 32,000 square meters. Upon completion, it will include one 7-story and one 14-story buildings, fostering industrial linkage with surrounding buildings and parks such as the Shanghai Withub Technology Park.
Among the completed projects on the day was the long-awaited project of Hongqiao talent apartments. Located in Xinjing Town within a 3-kilometer core radius of the Hongqiao Business District, the project has a total investment of 5.388 billion yuan and will provide high-quality rental housing for young talents in need of housing across the city.
