Columbia Circle a vibrant hub of art, fashion and culture

2024/03/28

The Columbia Circle, a well-known fashion and artistic landmark, continues to burst with vitality and the second phase of the park will open gradually in the second quarter.

The Columbia Circle is located in the historical Xinhua Road area known as the "first garden street in Shanghai.” In 2018, the first phase of the Columbia Circle officially opened to the public.

The much-anticipated second phase, located to the south of the first phase, plans to add five new multi-story buildings and open spaces such as streets, courtyards and squares, combining functions including offices, commercial spaces and leisure and entertainment facilities.

In April 2023, the first building and the first plaza area, Camphor Plaza, in the second phase were opened to the public. Currently, the other four buildings in the second phase have been completed, with plans for gradual openings starting in the second quarter of this year. The park's second phase will have multiple entrances and underground parking spaces.

Currently, more than ten brands including Blue Bottle Coffee and Sigma have confirmed their presence. The commercial recruitment for the second phase is ongoing, focusing on introducing brands involving outdoor sports and environmental protection.

In recent years, the first phase of the Columbia Circle has been constantly changing, with a diverse range of commercial formats, becoming a beloved open public cultural block. Exhibitions, dramas, concerts, lectures, comedies, and other diverse cultural activities are staged throughout the year within the park.

The history of the Columbia Circle can be traced back to the 1920s and 1930s. The park currently houses three historical buildings—the Columbia Country Club, the Navy Club with an attached pool, and the Sun Ke Villa—that were built during that period.
