2024/07/26

The immersive historical and cultural exhibition "The Great Qin" recently opened at the Changning Raffles City, stunning visitors with the "eighth wonder of the world" displayed through VR glasses.

Located on the third floor of the mall right at the main entrance, the exhibition kicks off with a digital screen looping a thematic blockbuster, and four Terracotta warriors instantly providing an immersive sense of "time travel."

Upon entering the exhibition area, visitors find themselves in a vast space filled with architectural elements, figures and weaponry. Donning VR glasses, they can start their experience.

Once the experience begins, a virtual guide appears and accompanies visitors throughout the journey, vividly describing the historical and cultural significance and highlights of each site.

Magnificent sights such as the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang (China’s first emperor), the Great Wall and the Terracotta army pits come into view, allowing for an up-close interaction with history.

The scenes viewed by the visitors are the result of the project team's travels across Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Zhejiang, conducting real-life scans of historical sites. Leveraging technology, the terrain of the Qin mausoleum and the internal structure of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb have been precisely reconstructed with the help of virtual engines.

"The experience switches from being on the ground to being in the sky, and the visual images are very realistic. This new type of immersive exhibition perfectly integrates traditional culture with modern technology, offering a feast for the senses," said a man surnamed Wu, one of the first visitors to experience the exhibition.

"With 'The Great Qin,' cultural enthusiasts and history buffs can personally experience the grandeur and legend of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb and witness the profound depth and brilliant splendor of Chinese civilization," said Zhang Bin, chairman of Henan Broadcasting and TV Station’s Eastern Digital Technology Co Ltd, the producer of the exhibition.
