The IFF Shanghai Innovation Research and Development Center has officially opened in the Linkong Park.
As IFF's largest innovation center in Asia, it covers 16,000 square meters. This establishment will further strengthen IFF's leading position in the fields of spice, essence, functional ingredients and biosciences.
The newly operational IFF Shanghai Innovation R&D Center has established the company's first integrated R&D and scientific discovery platform—the Microbial and Health Innovation Center, supporting all categories including animal nutrition, home and personal care. It also launched the first Visual Fragrance Center, which will implement olfactory AI solutions through facial expression capture. Additionally, it established the world's first Instant Noodle Excellence Center, the largest sensory science laboratory outside its headquarters, an essence innovation studio and a culinary demonstration kitchen.
"The Chinese market, as the core of strategic technological innovation, is leading the development trends in flavors, food ingredients, spice, health and biosciences across the Asia-Pacific region and globally," said IFF CEO Erik Fyrwald at the opening ceremony.
The operation of the IFF Shanghai Innovation R&D Center signifies that IFF has become the first multinational daily chemical and food ingredient company to operate and establish a production base in China. The establishment of the Shanghai center will drive the company to further explore the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets, developing innovative products tailored to local needs.
