Experience the essence of China: M+ Xingfuli's aesthetic journey

M+ Xingfuli, a cultural industrial park in Changning District, has launched Chinese aesthetics pop-up series event. Residents can sign up for experiential courses in intangible cultural heritage crafts, tea ceremonies, incense making, porcelain appreciation and restoration.
Formerly the Shanghai Rubber Products Research Institute and later transformed and operated by Xingfuli Group, M+ Xingfuli integrates creative offices, cultural arts, and commercial leisure, making it a well-known "community multi-functional lounge" in Shanghai.
The Chinese aesthetics pop-up event, presented by M+ Xingfuli in collaboration with Yiyunji Art Center, will continue until early March.
"Introduction to Chinese Incense" public course
This free public course covers the origins of Chinese incense, its historical development, differences between Chinese and Western incense, and methods to distinguish chemical from natural incense, guiding participants to explore the roots of incense culture.
Time: From now until early March, every Wednesday and Saturday, 19:30-20:30
"Easy Introduction to Tea Culture" public course and classes
The free public course will cover topics such as tea table etiquette, secrets of tea health benefits, and tea storage guidelines. Interested people can further explore tea ceremonies through formal courses, learning about tangerine peel appreciation, identifying the age of old white tea, and exploring black tea.
Time: Free public course on February 21 and 28; formal courses on February 22 and March 1
Porcelain Appreciation Course
This course focuses on "Song Dynasty Porcelain," "Blue and White Epics," and "Imperial Kiln Secrets," revealing the exquisite nature of Eastern civilization and leading participants through the history of Chinese ceramics.
Time: Paid course, from now until early March, every Friday 19:30-21:30, every Sunday 10:00-12:00
Chinese Incense Craft Experience Course (paid)
"Incense" is a romantic pursuit of scholars. Participants can learn about ancient incense practices and make incense sticks, seal incense, incense beads, incense plaques, and agarwood.

Participants can taste the six major types of Chinese tea, enjoying the flowing beauty of tea fragrance and discussing tea culture with fellow enthusiasts.

Song Dynasty Tea Whisking Experience Course
Tea whisking is a cultural treasure of China, embodying centuries of cultural heritage. Participants will follow in the footsteps of the Song Dynasty people, whisking tea and savoring the elegance of tradition.

Embroidered Ball Culture Experience Course
Embroidered balls, made of colorful silk, are beautiful and can be used for decoration, wearing, or playing. The course will explore the history and culture of embroidered balls and teach participants the skills to make their own.
