Changning welcomes ABB’s latest venture in home electricals

ABB Group welcomed a new member in China—ABB Electrification Technology Shanghai Co Ltd, which officially settled in Changning District on March 5. This marks the completion of ABB Group's acquisition of Siemens' switch and socket business in China, further strengthening its leading position in the Chinese home electrical market and highlighting the group's long-term growth plans in this sector.
Changning District Director Liu Ping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The District Investment Promotion Office signed a memorandum of cooperation with ABB Electrification Technology Shanghai Co Ltd to encourage technological innovation and jointly promote smart city development.
ABB Group is a global leader in electrification and automation, committed to enabling a more sustainable and efficient future. The establishment of Shanghai ABB Electrification Technology is another significant milestone in the group's development in China.
The company will offer comprehensive solutions covering switches, sockets, home and building automation, terminal power distribution, and energy management, seizing new development opportunities and advancing AI and digitalization processes.
"Shanghai provided conveniences in company registration and tax processing, allowing us to establish and operate the company within nine months," said Mike Mustapha, president of ABB Electrification’s Smart Buildings Division.

Currently, the district is home to nearly 7,000 foreign-funded enterprises.
