Two foreign enterprises in Changning named as multinational HQs

Two foreign enterprises in Changning District have been recognized as new regional headquarters of multinational companies.

On March 21, the 40th certification ceremony for regional headquarters and RD& centers of multinational companies was held. At the ceremony, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng awarded certificates to the companies.

As of now, Changning District has been home for a total of 150 regional headquarters and RD& centers of multinational companies.

Lagardère Travel Retail (Shanghai) Co Ltd, established in August 2008, primarily engages in retail operations at airports and other travel locations. Lagardère is part of Lagardère SCA, a renowned French media and technology listed company, covering three major sectors of travel retail: luxury goods (including international luxury brands, fashion apparel, perfumes, cosmetics, tobacco, alcohol, and gourmet foods), traditional travel retail (books, magazines, travel essentials), and food services.

Lagardère Travel Retail operates over 4,800 stores in about 270 airports and 750 train stations across 39 countries and regions worldwide. In 2024, thanks to the full recovery of airport operations, Lagardère's revenue in China exceeded 2.2 billion yuan (US$303.45 million).

Sigma Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd, established in February 2013, mainly deals in the manufacturing and sales of optical equipment such as DSLR/mirrorless cameras, compact digital cameras, interchangeable lenses, and various specialized accessories.

Sigma Trading is wholly funded by Japan's Sigma Corporation. Its sales network covers over 80 countries and regions globally, with the group’s revenue exceeding 2.58 billion yuan for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Currently, the company maintains stable performance and is expected to continue operating well as the market scale steadily expands.
