Changning District's first international ice sports center opens doors

The Big Hongqiao Ice Sports Center made its grand debut on April 13, coinciding with the launch of the 2025 Yangtze River Delta Youth Ice Hockey Spring League at Hongqiao Sports Park.
Built to international standards, the center is the first Olympic-level ice sports venue in the Big Hongqiao area and Changning District’s first professional ice rink meeting global specifications. The facility featurestwo regulation-sized ice surfaces (one for competitions and one for training), along with dedicated athlete lounges, coaches’ areas, referees’ rooms, VIP meeting spaces, and other premium amenities.
As a key hub for regional ice sports development, the center integrates public fitness programs, cultural activities, and professional training. Visitors can enjoy skating, ice hockey, and other ice sports by purchasing tickets or enrolling in coaching sessions. Meanwhile, Guojin Sports has established aprofessional club at the venue to nurture young talent for ice sports.
Located within Hongqiao Sports Park’s 40,000-square-meter multi-sport complex, the ice center neighbors facilities for basketball, badminton, squash, fencing, table tennis, skateboarding, skiing, and more—offering a one-stop destination for diverse athletic experiences.
To promote winter sports, the Changning District Sports Bureau andEast Hongqiao Development Office jointly launched acorporate ice sports outreach program, providing free beginner-friendly courses taught by professional coaches. The initiative focuses onfun, skill-building lessons to help participants quickly master skating techniques.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Yangtze River Delta Youth Ice Hockey Spring League kicked off. The tournament has drawn 20 youth teams from eight cities across the region.
