Changning's immersive pop-ups redefine cultural commerce

2025/06/19

As a designated demonstration zone for global product debuts, Changning District continues to attract a wave of pop culture IPs launching new products and immersive experiences. Recent weeks have seen a flurry of limited-time activations featuring beloved characters like Pop Mart's Molly, Moomin, Snoopy, and Kirby.

At C•PARK Haisu Cultural Plaza, Pop Mart's B"aby Molly's Three-Year-Old World pop-up captivates visitors with its whimsical oversized installations. Celebrating the release of the new Baby Molly Meowing Fun figurine series, the activation transforms ordinary furniture into giant playthings—from sofas to cat beds—inviting adults to rediscover childhood wonder through amplified perspectives. Running through June 30, this follows Pop Mart's successful month-long CHAKA pop-up at Columbia Circle, which concluded on June 16. The brand further collaborated with Chow Sang Sang on the DIMOO Dream Journey jewelry exhibition at Shanghai Livat, merging precious metals with the popular DIMOO Cloud Baby IP until June 27.

Commemorating 75 years of“Peanuts”comics, a Snoopy-themed time-travel experience at Changning Raffles City and MG Shop &lets fans explore archival displays and exclusive merchandise through June 22.

Nearby, Shanghai Takashimaya hosts an 80th-anniversary tribute to Finland's Moomin, faithfully recreating storybook scenes until early July. Meanwhile, Cu"te Space: Kirby's Summer Vacation at Livat assembles over 100 plush versions of the iconic pink character—a global phenomenon since 1992—through month's end.

These activations underscore Changning's evolution from retail hub to narrative-driven destination, where IP storytelling bridges commerce and community engagement. With each installation offering photo-worthy moments and limited-edition drops, the district solidifies its status as Shanghai's premier stage for cultural commerce innovation.
