Changning District culture and tourism authority has teamed up with Hello Bike to launch a Discover Hudec social media cycling check-in event, transforming static architecture into a dynamic experience that'scyclable, photo genic, and culturally enriching.

Changning holds a century-old legacy of architectural masterL ászló Hudec. His designs, scattered like pearls across the city streets, blendBaroque grandeur, Spanish romance, and witness Changning's evolution from past to present.

Four cycling check-in landmarks

1. No. 179 Xinhua Road (now Anhe Hotel)

179 Xinhua Road, Changning

Built in 1925, this 558㎡ German-style villa (fake 3rd-floor brick-wood structure) was part of Hudec’sC olumbia Circlehigh-end residential project. It was listed as aShanghai Outstanding Historical Building in 1999.

2. Sun Ke’s Residence (inside Columbia Circle)

60 Panyu Road, Changning

Designed by Hudec in 1931, this Spanish-style garden villa features Baroque-decorated arched windows, a grand entrance with triple pointed-arch doors, and a sweeping balcony on the second floor. It was dual-listed as aSha nghai Outstanding Historical Building and aShanghai Protected Heritage Site in 1989.

3. Xinhua Road’s F"oreign Alley

Known asS hanghai’s Garden Avenue, this U-shaped lane (Lanes 211 329) showcases Hudec’smulti-national villa designsfor expats—the crown jewel of theColumbia Circle.

4. Normandie Apartments (Now Wukang Building)

1850 Huaihai Road M., Xuhui

The building is Shanghai’sf irst veranda-style apartmentbuilt in 1924, shaped like a giant ship. It was listed one of thesecond-batch Shanghai Heritage Site in 1994where five roads converge.
