Changning launches Reading & Coffee Culture Week

2026/04/23

Changning District kicked off its 2026 National Reading Campaign and Coffee Culture Week today at Hongqiao Park, offering citizens a city micro-travel experience that combines strolling, tasting, listening, and even prize draws.

Market Vibes

A Coffee & Reading Market runs from April 23 to 26 (10:00–17:30 daily), featuring six themed zones with over 50 brands and stalls covering books, tea and coffee, cultural products, charity, hospitality, and lifestyle. A robot will roam the market, interacting warmly with visitors.

The Waamo stall offers three limited-edition Changning signature coffee blends: “Dopamine Palette” (immersive art), “Long Scroll of Calligraphy” (savory bookishness), and “Encountering Hudec” (architecture to read). Each cup tells a story tied to a local landmark.

“Coffee +” Immersive Experiences

April 23, 12:00–13:00, LG1 atrium of L’Avenue: A sensory “soul stop” combining coffee aroma and sound to release stress.

April 23, 13:00–14:00 (L’Avenue) & April 24–26, 12:00–13:00 (Hongqiao Park main stage): Young folk singers perform live; visitors can scan QR codes to request songs.

April 25, 13:00–14:30: Hongqiao Park lawn transforms into a main stage for a mysterious art performance.

Coffee + Micro-Travel

Visitors can ride specially designed 1940s-style bicycles, take a Spring Tour double-decker sightseeing bus, or walk through city blocks, all while sipping a cup of coffee from the market.
