Take a slow summer stroll along Suzhou Creek at ECUPL

2026/05/15

Summer is in full bloom, perfect for a slow stroll along the water. Along the Suzhou Creek section near the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), a gentle, dreamy escape has appeared. No rush, no crowds – just a relaxed, lazy, and carefree atmosphere.

It is recommended to enter from the main gate of the ECUPL Changning Campus, turn right at the Gezhi Building, and walk straight to the waterfront path. The first thing you will see is the “EMO Dissolving Corridor.” From there, walking left along the river will take you through the complete route.

Stop 1: EMO Dissolving Corridor
This flower corridor outside the Gezhi Building is decorated in soft purple. Wind chimes hang beneath the trellis, swaying and ringing in the breeze, cheerful and stress‑relieving.

Stop 2: Lying Back to Watch the Clouds
A blue‑and‑white flower bed mimics the shape of drifting clouds. Soft, cloud‑shaped sofas sit in the middle of the lawn, and among the trees, floating cloud nets made of silk are suspended.

Stop 3: Lucky Heart Bridge
Pink hydrangeas are in full bloom on the ECUPL Bridge. On one side lies the verdant campus; on the other, the green riverbank. Humanities and nature blend gently here.

Stop 4: Empty Flower Harbor
This is a flower maze offering an immersive, layered garden experience, where visitors can also observe plant specimens up close.

Stop 5: Pause Office
At the “Pause Office,” a pavilion, bamboo decorations, and lush greenery complement each other. A clock installation among the trees reminds passersby to slow down.

Walking along this path, you will enjoy both the beauty of Suzhou Creek and the historic architecture of the ECUPL campus. The creek flows gently, with continuous greenery along its banks. Inside the ECUPL campus, century‑old buildings are scattered among camphor trees, their red walls and arched corridors creating a cinematic atmosphere at every turn.
