Film-themed market brings romance, ICH and global flavors
2026/05/22
From May 20 to 24, the “Changning Charm· Happiness Bazaar” life aesthetics themed market are taking place at the outdoor plaza of the Shanghai Film Art Center.
The market brings together 22 curated booths, blending film, romance, intangible cultural heritage (ICH), and gourmet food, offering citizens a unique and diverse artistic and cultural consumption experience. On May 20, a special themed exhibition for the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival was open.
As a major screening venue for the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Shanghai Film Art Center provides a cinematic atmosphere. Before or after a movie, visitors can shop for film IP merchandise and enjoy specialty drinks.
The market carries a romantic vibe, echoing the sweet charm of nearby Xingfu Road (Happiness Road). Booths featuring fresh flowers, handmade crafts, and jewelry design offer little moments of joy for couples, helping activate the “Happiness Road” romance economy.
Intangible cultural heritage and Eastern aesthetics are also highlights. Brands showcasing literati incense, Shanghai-style embroidered balls, herbal-scented beads, and Fahua peony cultural creative products bring together ICH inheritance and innovation.
In addition, the market features delicacies from afar, including ecological duck eggs from Yunnan’s terraced fields, aged Fuding white tea, as well as exquisite treats like handcrafted cookies and coffee from star-rated hotels — all in one stop for diverse flavors from both rural and urban origins.
