Changning keeps popular flower installations for another year
2026/06/05
Although the Shanghai International Flower Show has come to an end, several popular art landscape installations at the Changning branch venue will remain open to the public for one more year, allowing citizens and tourists to continue enjoying the urban spring blossoms and artistic romance.
“Peach, Plum and Apricot Blossoms Are Family”
On the large lawn of Zhongshan Park, a sculpture group titled “Peach, Plum and Apricot Blossoms Are Family” takes the rabbits, a traditional symbol of spring, as its inspiration. Through modern, humorous and anthropomorphic expressions, it vividly interprets the beautiful imagery of “spring rabbits playing with flowers.” In the artwork, the soft pink “Mother Peach,” the bright yellow “Father Plum,” and the glowing orange “Child Apricot” transform into the spirits of peach, plum, and apricot blossoms, inviting citizens to embark on a poetic trip amid the spring flowers.
“Qutey Elves”
Also on the large lawn, the “Qutey Elves” installation originates from “Qutey,” the mascot of the 2025 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season. The design team SUSAS used clockwork spring as the prototype to create six elves, each representing one of the six elements: science, space, art, environment, future and history. Integrated into the public space, these physical installations, with their six bright colors and distinct personalities, add a touch of childlike fun and vitality to the park.
“Miss Skirt”
The “Miss Skirt” themed landscape at Gate 1 of Zhongshan Park on Changning Road features a circular flower belt as its framework, weaving layers of pink flower clusters into the greenery. At the center of the flower border stands a flower ring arch, incorporating Pokémon IP imagery to create an immersive space that invites visitors to linger.
The long-term retention of these signature installations from the flower show not only extends the romantic atmosphere of the event but also weaves the poetry of spring and artistic aesthetics into the daily leisure lives of residents. Over the coming year, these landscape features will become quality destinations for citizens to experience the city’s artistic ambiance.
