Changning’s youth talent camp empowers future leaders for global markets

2026/06/09

The International Youth Talent Camp, focusing on training talent for enterprises expanding overseas, concluded on June 7 at Hongqiao Upper Town in Changning District.

The four-week camp, aimed at helping Chinese and foreign youth understand, participate in, and integrate into global business through real-world scenarios, covered topics such as globalization trends, overseas markets and localization, cross-cultural collaboration, brand expression, corporate case studies and practical challenges.

More than 40 outstanding young talent from 25 countries and regions were selected from nearly 450 applicants, forming a “mini‑UN” learning community.

Addressing key pain points for Chinese brands going global, the camp set up four real‑world project challenges, requiring each of the eight teams to deliver actionable plans for different target markets. Final outcomes included localization proposals, cross‑cultural narrative strategy reports, and independent website designs for overseas products, fully demonstrating the participants’ deep understanding and innovative capabilities in the going‑global arena.

Jimmy from Egypt, currently studying at East China Normal University, said that the camp perfectly aligned with his goal of helping Chinese enterprises expand overseas. Through interacting with international talent, he broadened his global perspective and gained a deeper understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds.

The camp broke away from the traditional “talking about going global in a classroom” model, advocating instead “stepping out of the classroom, into enterprises, and understanding going global through practice,” which was widely praised by participants.

In the future, Changning will continue to leverage its international resource advantages, relying on the construction of the Hongqiao headquarters cluster for going‑global enterprises, to precisely meet the new demand for versatile young talent in the process of globalization, helping them move from “understanding globalization” to “participating in globalization.”
