2026/08/05
The AI Overseas OPC (One Person Company) Special Competition of the 6th Shanghai Global Talens Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition recently concluded at the East Hongqiao International Youth Talent Innovation Center. Leveraging the open hub advantages of the Hongqiao International Business District, this competition focused on cultivating cross-border entrepreneurial projects and seeks to expand the headquarters cluster of going global companies in the Hongqiao area.
The event also saw the launch of Hongqiao HaiChuang Bay (the innovation and entrepreneurship platform of the East Hongqiao International Youth Science and Technology Innovation Center), which is a joint project of the District Talent Work Bureau and the District Science and Technology Commission.
Leveraging its location advantages, the platform aims to create an incubation space for overseas science and technology innovation talents. It is a new type of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem integrating office space, project incubation, policy services, industry matchmaking, and lifestyle integration.
After its launch, Hongqiao HaiChuang Bay will speed up the transformation of competition results, provide tiered support for outstanding participating OPC entrepreneurial teams, and precisely target entrepreneurial support resources. The platform will also continue to cultivate the AI overseas innovation track, attracting global young science and technology innovation talents to settle and develop, accumulating talent momentum for the region's new productive forces.
The competition invited more than 60 OPC project teams. After screening, 30 project teams took the stage, with nearly 50 percent of them having overseas backgrounds. The participating projects focused on three cutting-edge tracks: AI technology overseas expansion, direct-to-consumer cross-border e-commerce, and digital IP entertainment, highly aligning with the characteristics of Changning's digital economy and professional service industries and Hongqiao's international development positioning. Ultimately, 6 winning projects were selected, with 5 outstanding projects successfully advancing to the semi-finals.
Changning District will continue to leverage the advantages of the Hongqiao International Open Hub platform and build a bridge for cross-border entrepreneurial talent to connect with domestic and international businesses.
