Changning District held symposium with Shanghai International Port Group

On September 10, Changning District and Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) held a symposium to discuss cooperation in areas such as the cross-border e-commerce industry ecosystem, supply chain services for enterprises going global, and the application of smart logistics scenarios.

Yu Fulin, Party Secretary and Chairman of SIPG, Song Xiaodong, Deputy Party Secretary and President of SIPG, Kong Fu'an, Party Secretary of Changning District, and Liu Ping, Deputy Party Secretary and District Mayor of Changning District, attended the meeting.

As the world's largest container port operator, Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) leverages the locational advantages of Shanghai Port to deeply cultivate businesses such as terminal operation, port logistics, and comprehensive supporting services. It focuses on promoting the intelligent and green transformation and upgrading of port and shipping, and building a shipping hub connecting domestic and international markets. SIPG is a core force in the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center.

Kong Fu'an, on behalf of the Changning District Committee and Government, expressed gratitude to SIPG for its long-term support of Changning's development.

He stated that Changning serves as Shanghai's gateway to the Yangtze River Delta and a bridgehead connecting domestic and international markets. The region is home to headquarters and innovative entities in shipping, freight forwarding, cross-border e-commerce, and artificial intelligence, among other fields.

Both sides have broad cooperation potential in empowering Chinese enterprises to go global, improving supply chain systems, and promoting digital transformation. He expressed hope for further deepening cooperation between the district and SIPG in the future, expanding cooperation scenarios and promoting project implementation in areas such as innovative development of multimodal transport and building a cross-border e-commerce industry alliance, jointly serving the construction of Shanghai's five centers.

Yu Fulin expressed his gratitude to Changning District for its continued care and support for SIPG. He noted that Changning District possesses unique locational advantages and a prominent open character, boasting abundant resources of export-oriented enterprises and a comprehensive service system for enterprises going global, which aligns perfectly with SIPG's business layout and expansion direction.

SIPG will leverage its global port network and shipping resources to fully empower Changning's cross-border e-commerce and shipping forwarding companies to expand overseas. SIPG hopes to establish a regular platform for cooperation with Changning, further identify strategic convergence areas, and form a deeper and more comprehensive strategic partnership.
