New cultural landmark added on Yuyuan Road

2026/10/03

Recently, The Jiaxu·753 Space officially opened in Jiachun 753 Park, and the inaugural exhibition "I Am Your Eyes" - Jinshi·Five Senses Photography Exhibition was launched at the same time, injecting new cultural vitality into the century-old Yuyuan Road historical block.

As a newly developed multi-functional cultural hub on Yuyuan Road, Jiaxu 753 Space integrates art exhibitions, cultural salons, seasonal pop-up events, elegant markets, and business aesthetic activities.

"This provides a platform for artists and creators to express themselves, and also creates a cultural living room for citizens and tourists to stop and come in. The value of historical buildings lies in their revitalization and continuous endowment with new contemporary connotations," said Zhu Yongming, head of Jiachun Park which operates the cultural space on Yuyuan Road.

The unique concept behind this five-sense exhibition stems from a niche yet healing collection of natural art images.

Photographer Jin Shi traveled to Morocco to capture numerous photographs of the roots and stems of rare local plants. These microscopic natural scenes, rarely noticed by the public, moved Jessie Wen, a curator with many years of experience in art creation and curating. This unique artistic quality gave birth to the five-sense curatorial concept, thus constructing a complete multi-dimensional viewing system .

Speaking about the core values the exhibition aims to convey, Jessie Wen said that the images of plant roots and stems are simple and unpretentious, and many viewers may initially mistake them for ordinary plant textures, but in fact, they leave much room for interpretation.

"The perception of art varies from person to person. Viewers with different experiences and states of mind can all read their own unique artistic conception from the microscopic images of nature. I hope that viewers in the hustle and bustle of the city can use a full-sensory experience to calm down and explore the beauty of nature at its microscopic level."

As the owner of a clothing brand, Jessie Wen has deeply integrated her original designs with this exhibition. Many of the patterns in the exhibited Neo-Chinese style clothing are inspired by the botanical images featured in the exhibition, achieving a cross-disciplinary transformation of the artwork. The exhibition also includes a variety of activities such as fashion shows, floral arrangements, and jewelry displays, exploring sustainable operating models while maintaining its artistic tone, allowing art to truly reach the public and enter everyday life.

Against the backdrop of urban renewal and cultural upgrading of Yuyuan Road, the opening of Jiaxu·753 Space is a practical achievement of Changning District's continuous efforts to revitalize the historical district of Yuyuan Road and deepen the construction of its cultural tourism brand. It is also a concrete action by the park to respond to the regional cultural strategy and participate in the co-construction of the district.

The space will continue to deepen its collaboration with the district and the street, constantly enriching the cultural landscape of Yuyuan Road, allowing the old street to continue to radiate contemporary charm through new art and new content.
