Practices to boost people’s livelihoods

Changning will equip 10 more neighborhoods with shared charging piles and install fire-fighting facilities in 157 charging places of electric bicycles.

Meanwhile, the district will build another 35 breakfast spots, seven neighborhood canteens, two comprehensive senior service centers and three more daycare centers for local residents.

A total of 400 families will have elderly-friendly facilities installed while 3,000 more smoke detectors will take care of elderly people who live alone. Five elderly-friendly medical institutes will be established at the same time.

Each community or town in Changning will have a shelter for juveniles. Childcare facilities will look after toddlers throughout the district and elementary school students in summer vacation.

Three hundred more parking spaces will join a time-staggered scheduling program.

The space under the bridge in New Hongqiao Central Garden will get a facelift this year.

Moreover, Changningers will be treated with 10,000 cultural activities and able to exercise at 40 renewed fitness spots.

A total of 50,000 square meters of rundown neighborhoods will be renovated. Old apartments with shared bathroom and kitchen will have their facilities upgraded.

Another 400 old multi-story apartment buildings will have elevators installed. Three more air raid shelters will be built while at least 80,000 locals will attend civil defense training exercise.

Seventy micro-renovation projects will be carried out to improve people’s living environment.
